Before, I was a bit skeptical on the collagen drinks, but more and more brands are coming up with their own; could this mean that this product is really effective? I also figured now is a good time to give these collagen supplements a try because they have been around and had more time for research and improvements, therefore I trust formulations are definitely better now than before.
I got one Shiseido The Collagen from Cheska's Store; this is good for 21 days and I just finished with it last week. Now here's what happened to me.
I particularly chose Shiseido for my collagen powder brand because as I said, I trust anything made in Japan and just because...Shiseido. This is 126g and costs P1,100 at Cheska's Store.
Shiseido The Collagen Powder is made with low molecular fish collagen; it's virtually odorless and tasteless, and can be combined with drinks, soups, stews, and other water and sauce- based meals; I learned that some collagen drinks have a strong fish taste and smell, and there's none of those with Shiseido; it's the biggest deciding factor for me.
I took it with coffee because the powder -which is like milk, actually- needs hot water to dissolve completely; the powder does not affect the taste of my drink at all plus, it's only 21 calories per scoop and 1 scoop per day is only required.
I experimented with the drink. After 21 days, here's what happened to my skin.
Please take note that I have used the same lighting for the two photos, except the backgrounds.
BEFORE TAKING SHISEIDO THE COLLAGEN POWDER
To be honest, I'm wearing makeup here, but it can't cover the fact that my skin is breaking out, doesn't look healthy, dull, and seems like it's lacking in firmness.
DAY 5- No visible effects yet
DAY 10- Nope, still no visible effects
DAY 15- Skin looked more glowing
Day 18- Skin on my cheek area felt more firm
DAY 21- skin looks plumper, smoother, more firm, and radiant
Not wearing makeup here anymore. That's no filter selfie for you. On the 21st day, my skin has improved; not dramatically, but enough for me to see the effects. I also noticed that my breakout has lessened; I am not saying that the Collagen powder has directly influenced that, but it MAY have something to do with it. Take note that I'm very religious with my skin care regimen and I drink at least 6 glasses of water.
The effect that stood out for me was how my skin looked firmer; something I didn't notice with the skin care products I've finished recently. Well, this could be a sign now that I need additional Collagen haha! Also, it doesn't induce stomach motility, at least for me, so I think it's safe to take even when you're out of the house.
For what it's worth, I think Collagen oral supplements are helpful in keeping your skin healthy and youthful, but of course, there are some conditions:
1. Only buy from a reputable seller.
2. Make sure that you don't have underlying medical conditions before taking it without medical supervision.
3. Check if you have allergies with fish.
4. Buy from a reputable brand.
Because of this experiment, I think I'll be continuing taking collagen supplements. Anyone here who's taking Collagen powder and supplements? Let me know your thoughts and experience, plus your recos! What are good brands for you?

ReplyDeleteYes agree. Kay Cheska Store ako nakuha kasi legit siya and super tagal na rin. She sells authentic supplements only. :)

Collagen is a protein that is naturally occurring in our skin; it's what keeps the skin plump; overtime, you lose collagen. :)
DeleteI would love to try Collagen drinks or supplements but it's pricey for a non-working mom like me. And it would take a few packs to take for it to see the full results. Other collagen brand I know is "IVI" which I think is also made in Japan.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are affordable ones, but personally, I'll go for a brand that I trust; doesn't matter if it's expensive as long as it's a trusted brand. :)
Deleteany precaution for that collagen powder anyone can drink it?
ReplyDeletePregnant and breastfeeding women are not advised to drink it. Those with allergies, particularly seafood are not advised to drink also. If you have any underlying medical condition, consult with a doctor first. )
DeleteIs this true? I want to try also the Shiseido Collagen i asked my pedia if i can take collagen while still breastfeeding and she said YES. Now im confused if i still can take collagen.
DeleteI've tried Meiji collagen drink too and I say it is effective.
