If I were to summarize my 8th year, it was all about trusting in my skills, knowing my self- worth, embracing my transition to vlogging and video, and nurturing a community, you, my beloved #TBJBeshies. It has been an amazing 8th year and I can't wait for the lessons and growth that I will experience on my 9th. Maybe I will form a group of #TBJBeshies who will join me in creating wonderful content for the rest of our Beshies? Who knows!

Answer to the Question: TBJ influenced me a lot in so many ways. Since Ms. M and I have the same skintone, I always follow her advice on foundations and concealers. This blog helped me enhance my makeup skills through the years and is my main inspiration why I also do blogging now too. Beauty is not only about makeup and skincare, but also about fitness and life adventures!

What luck! The first beauty blogger that I followed and she was a morena like me. Very conscious kasi ako sa skin color ko but I don't want to have a lighter skin.The Beauty Junkee molded my perception of beauty by making me realize na hindi lang mapuputi ang maganda. Kahit na morena ka, maganda ka pa rin. Kahit na morena ka, you can still make your beauty stand out with the help of appropriate products to enhance your beauty. I found Ms.Martha's articles very interesting and useful. It gives you a perception before fully investing on certain products. ��

Not exactly change, but more of reaffirm that beauty has a lot of aspects and can't really be determined alone by what the eyes see.
We can affect what other people would deem as beauty -- even make them feel beauty -- and that to me is powerful!

Answer to the Question: It is very timely that I followed you Ms. Martha since I am on my version 2.0 this 2018 since all my beauty energy was sleeping for 2 years of pregnancy. At first I was just a casual reader of this blog, then my interest got pique when you rock colorful and bold eye shadows and lippie that I would never consider myself wearing on my skin color, then slowly I can not help but admire your boldness and confidence which I never saw on the people around my circle. The last thing I know is that I'm hooked to TBJ and attending your Mega Anniversaries year after year. I learn to accept my own beauty. From where my beauty interest start, seeing the contents of media way before when I was still a kid is that white is beautiful thus, my perception to beauty became limited to caucasian feaure. This perception changes the way I see myself I became shy and embarassed of myself specially if they came to know that I'm a half Chinese thay question why I'm not fair skinned whether that I'm my father's child (well that became to personal lol) but, it slowly changes when I embrace all the encouragement that you have channeled thru your blog.

Madalas ko Po Sabihin Eyebrow, Lipstick and Blush sapat na ako 3yrs na akong naka follow Kay Ms. Martha pero last yr Lang ako naka pag stak Mula NG na meet ko sya. As a working mom and having two kids it’s really hard to stay fit, healty and to look young/ beautiful at the same time. Sometimes you dont have time to pamper yourself because of the duties and responsibilities of being a mother and a wife. All you want is to earn money/work and take care of your family to provide their needs and wants. Day’s, time and years passed and sad to say I forgoy myself. I looked stressed and weak. I asked myself how can I empower myself? I have a college friend who invite me join a giveaway. She said It’s simple to join, just like and share the page. It’s funny because I become promatic! It’s really fun and exciting. Lalo na kapag nanalo ka�� And Like and Share is become my hobby. �� I thought it just a game for me but It become helpful to empowered myself. The Beauty Junkee is one my favorite page and blogger. Because of that, I learned how to put make up in a proper way, how to be fit and some skincare routine. I learn to trust and believe myself.

Answer: The Beauty Junkee changed my perception of true beauty. Unang una akala ko dati I need to be so maputi para matawag na maganda but I realized na what I really need is confidence. Ikalawang eye opener na binigay ng tbj sa akin ay nung nagsimula si Martha mag crossfit and clarified na ginagawa nya yun not to become the “sexy” described by world but to become a physically strong woman. Strong enough to defend herself in times of trouble. Idagdag pa si Cai Cortez na guest last year. I love myself even more together with all the bumps and folds of my body. Answer to the Question: The Beauty Junkee helps me build my morena confidence specially in the Ph were there is a stigma that "maputi is always beautiful and dark skin is a no-no". It also helps me accept that you should love your body whatever size you are in as long as you feel you're healthy. With all the blogs that Ms. Martha had published, there's this one blog that etched in my mind when she worked out so hard and she posted a picture saying she was really tempted to edit her body cause it was not the result she was expecting but she decided not to cause she was proud of what she attained after her hard work on the gym and it made me love myself more. Answer to the Question: How did The Beauty Junkee mold your perception about beauty?
Two or three years ago, I don’t know anything about makeup. I don’t even wear sunscreen or put powder on my face and once in a blue moon I get to “painfully” groom my brows via eyebrow threading. It started with a MAC lipstick and an Eyeshadow palette. But then my very limited knowledge about them is not enough. I decided to start reading makeup blogs - that is when I always get results for this site: http://thebeautyjunkee.blogspot.com/ It became a habit of reading her blog, I also know her time slots, 10 am and 2pm if I remember it correctly. I then learned that there is a less painful way of grooming eyebrows. I also learned that kilay is important than my husbands voice and anger whenever he wanted me to be prepared and ready to leave - but no he have to wait because my eyebrows are not yet ready to face the world. I also learned that skincare is important, especially if you’re now an early tita’s of wherever place you are in. Also fitness is very important, I am amazed how she endure crossfit exercises, I saw her videos and Instagram stories and I can’t imagine myself doing them, all I can do is running not lifting things which are heavier than me - and for tat I salute her. And lastly how to become a strong. independent, will - powered woman. Why? TBJ is here for N I N E years! WOW! Nine years of dedicating yourself to something is not anyone can do, especially now when there are a billion bloggers/vloggers out there. I can’t even keep up my own blog that I ran for a year or so. I also admire her passion about her own company, I wanted to have my own but I’m not brave enough just yet. And lastly, this is what really for me her outstanding qualities, why in all these years and among any other bloggers/vloggers out there make her stand up: she KNOWS her readers - personally. I was really shocked that she knows my name - the very first time I met her. I don’t know if I will cry or what. And whenever I get to meet her on events, she didn’t forget mine, she also knows the others as well. That is what I love about TBJ the commitment to her readers and the EFFORT to KNOW her readers as well.
One time my husband asked me: “How did you learn to put makeup? You don’t put makeup when we are just started dating?” My answer was: “Blame it on The Beauty Junkee, her blog makes me who I am now in terms of putting makeup on - especially my kilay. I owe it to her big time!

Answer to the Question: I personally believe that beauty is from within. Everything around us is considered as beauty, including ourselves. As a new mom I needed to be economical when purchasing makeup products and I needed to be sure these products are safe to use because I have a baby then...now toddler to mind. I worried that if I hugged or kissed my baby that the chemicals would be transferred so I was quite doubtful about the quality of our local brands but thanks to Martha’s posts I learned about local brands that are safe, effective and economical.
Now I know that “Beauty” doesn’t always have to be expensive. You just need to be open minded and willing to try new things.

Answer to the Question: When I was younger, I thought that beauty is only for those who are skinny, fair skinned and model like women. The Beauty Junkee's reviews help me know more about makeup and skincare products that are good for morenas and petite girls like me. Question: How did The Beauty Junkee mold your perception about beauty?
Answer: It's common for Filipinos to think that only fair skinned women/men are beautiful. I think The Beauty Junkee broke that concept for us. It helped me realise that I don't need to be maputi to become beautiful. It changed how I look at beauty too, in a way that, what might work for me, might not work for you and the other way around. I can also see beauty beyond what is encouraged and deemed acceptable by the media and press. It has encouraged as well to love our bodies, and not to be deterred by society.

Answer to the Question: I consider "The Beauty Junkee" like a Hero to all Filipina beauties. Why?
1) It promotes not only international brands but also locally produced brands which are very accessible to us (can buy it at SM Malls, Watson, Robinsons, 7-11 or even some small grocery stores).
2) It teaches us to save money by buying dupe makeup for high end brands which are verryyyy expensive.
3) It is easy to understand since the language used is our native language or sometimes TagLish.
4) It visualizes the true beauty of makeup using the right color or shade with our skintone na "Morena".
5) Makeup can be learned even without formal training or course. The good thing is it is for free. You can do it by yourself by watching tutorials. Tiwala lang ����

For me, I learned a lot in this blog and to Ms.Martha. Because she represent Unconventional Beauty.
Beauty that comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and ages., I have high respect for beauty & food bloggers mainly because it takes time and effort to really review a product and service plus it takes more than a simple yes, no and all the other adjectives to describe something.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Ms.Martha aside from her helpful tutorials about beauty,make up and product reviews, it’s learning new things about her.

It taught me that beauty or being beautiful does not comes with size, shape and color. Being beautiful is accepting who you really are and loving and embracing all those imperfections. Coz we are all perfectly imperfect anyway. Lastly, it doesn't need to be expensive, there are waaaaaay more better alternatives for almost everything you just need to look and find for it.

TBJ helped me change my perspective when it comes to my insecurities in girl-staches. I used to be really insecure about my girl-stache that i cant take a selfie without editing it or i just dont take a really close up selfie at all, even if i like posting my lipstick of the day. Until i noticed TBJ posting her perfect selfies with her girl-stache not edited out. Alam mo yung feeling na “eto nga sikat na blogger, proud at dedma sa girlstache”
You even replied to my Fan Friday question about it, saying i should be proud and dont listen to others who says i should wax it off if im not comfortable with it. That’s just the reassurance i need, thank you :)

Ms Martha's blogposts made me realize that there is power in beauty, and that beauty is the epitome of the Filipina woman. The blog made me knowledgeable of the technical aspect of beauty such as beauty product ingredients and what they do. Next, Ms.Martha's honest reviews about beauty products helped me to decide which product I will buy.I make sure to check the blog first before buying a product. Beauty is the whole package --- from looking good & feeling good; to embracing beauty in everything we do and believe in. Beauty is not just the physical but what we take in our bodies, memories we make, people we relate to and values we believe in. Okay, first of all. Hi Ms. Martha!!! I am totally a newbie.. like literal na first time ko nabasa mga blog post mo, first time saw your videos and all. siguro in one seating nahalukay ko mga posts mo and within that hours I learned a lot. :) Thanks to you!!!
To be honest when I saw your post about the event on my IG feed, read the caption and i second thought on joining because... One, Uhmmm i dont consider myself lucky on winning this kind of raffle, game or giveaways or what not kasi i havent pa talaga... and two, i dont have a twitter account hahahah. so i created one for this... and i felt something in my heart telling me na "sige lang push lang, give yourself another chance... malay mo this time". So I did. So nag kwento na ako hahaha. sorry... This year kasi is my promise to myself to pursue what am passionate about and that is Make Up Artistry. And How did "YOU" mold and help me the perception about beauty ---- is seeing you so passionate about what you are doing. That beauty is one size fits all. TBJ made me realize that beauty is all about confidence and self love. It’s about being willing to take care of yourself and being confident in the skin that you are in. I’m morena and i realised that you don’t have to be fair skinned in order to be beautiful, you don’t have to pile on tons of whitening products in order to feel pretty. It doesn’t matter what other people think. If you take care of yourself, you know of the efforts you have put in, and that is fulfilling on its own. If find yourself beautiful and you are happy with how you look, then that is enough. Nothing makes a person more beautiful than confidence. Thank you, Miss Martha, you are very inspirational! Since, I’ve been a follower and reader of TBJ for many years, I really LEARNED A LOT from TBJ from picking the right shade of foundation, to the shade of lipstick perfect for every eyeshadow makeup tutorial and how to love yourself for who and what you are. TBJ boosts my self confidence to pursue my dream of being a MUA (my dream job) honestly, dito ko natutunan ang lahat ng alam ko sa pagme-makeup plus na lang ang pagattend sa mga makeup workshops, and every time na magse-share ako ng anything related sa makeup sa mga kaibigan ko, relatives at officemates ko I am confident kasi I gather information here at TBJ, I thank you Ms M for putting up this blog for nine years! Growing up, I didn't exactly have the cookie cutter type of beauty. I wasn't blessed with a naturally skinny body, a high-bridged nose and double eyelids. Belonging in a society where others judge others based on appearances made me think that I wasn't beautiful enough. But thanks to Miss Martha's blog, I was able to realize that we do not need to conform to one set of standards to become beautiful; we just need to be comfortable in our skin and learn to love ourselves. I was one if the girls who used to be shy wearing makeup because other people think that it's my way of hiding flaws. But now, almost everything I knew, I learned from this site. Not only did it give me knowledge about beauty, it also gave me an online community to reach out to. This site is one of the few sites I never stopped following. Hi Ms. Martha, happy anniversary!
The beauty junkee molded my perception on beauty on two aspects.
First, like most of your followers, TBJ taught me that beauty is not just about having the traditional good looks accepted by society, such as fair skin and a skinny body. To be honest I used to have these but constant traveling made my skin darker (I have a permanent tan now) and constant pigging out made me overweight. I had really low self esteem, I even believed that I shouldn’t be buying makeup since it’ll just be sayang on me since I was ugly, since I was too tan. Reading TBJ blog entries, comments and Fan Mail Fridays changed that, it taught me to love myself and my version of beauty.
Second, some of what I learned from TBJ are not from reading the blog itself but from attending the TBJ 8th Mega Anniversary. I have been a fan of your blog for 5-6 years now but that was the first time I ever went to a beauty blogger gathering. I met a lot of other women who are from a different age group and backgrounds as mine, who I wouldn’t have the chance to interact with otherwise. It was a shock to see that women who are so different from me love the exact same lippie shade I do, also use this brand of dry shampoo when we feel too tamad to bathe, also feel a little more confident when she uses this highlighter we read about in TBJ. From them I have learned to appreciate that we women may seem different on the outside but we are actually the same in a lot of aspects. From their stories, I have learned that beauty means different things to every woman.

Alam mo yung feeling na, nasa 30s ka na pero ngayon ka lang nahilig sa make up? Ganun po yung pakiramdam ko, ika nga "late bloomer" pero alam ko hindi pa naman huli ang lahat. Answer to the Question: Finding this blog let me to joining the FB group The Beauty Junkee's Unite which actually molded my percepction of beauty. It was never about what you see when you look in the mirror. But how others also see you. Not physically but their perception of you. Answer to the question: The Beauty Junkee molded my perception of beauty in a that it taught me as a reader to be comfortable in my own skin. Growing up I've always been one of the boys and I still am until now. But puberty came, and there were a lot of changes especially for a girl. I never really took interest in the line of beauty until I got into college since I had to look extra presentable. I was not one to discriminate a person based on the color of her skin. And this blog educated me more, seeing the use of make up as not an escape or a mask but simply a tool in accentuating what we already have. I wish people would read more of this.

I've been following The Beauty Junkee for a year now. When I was starting with building up my own make up kit, I've searched for a lot of tips and products that will really be helpful for me, who's on a tight budget, and I stumbled on your website. I loved that all the reviews are honest. Whenever i decide to buy a new product, I will first check your opinion on it before buying it. I've learned through many of your blog posts that beauty don't come with an expensive price. Make ups are just there to amplify the beauty that already exists. I've learned that we should invest on taking care of our skin more. One already has a beauty that she has to be proud of, no matter the color of the skin or the shape of the face. No matter what body type we are in. TBJ's article has guided me into being a confident morena woman, and helped me embrace the woman I am and I've become. Answer to the Question: The Beauty Junkee has influenced the way I see or feel about beauty in so many ways. Two of which are:
- I turn to this blog everytime I need to reference a new product. Not only the review itself but the feedback I read in the comments section as well as the group page have helped me in making a decision whether to buy that product or not.
- After about five years of reading/following this blog, I realized that there's a LOT to being physically beautiful. It's not only flawlessly putting on make up or wearing a pretty dress for your #ootd. You gotta balance it out. You have to be mindful of your health and overall well being too. I look up to Ms. Martha everytime I need a boost with my gym time, I sometimes find myself referencing her circuit training/ workout posts. As cliche as it sounds but Balance is key. You have to find that 'Balance' in talking care of your overall well being and I think I've somehow learned a lot of that in this blog. ❤️

Answer to the Question: I enjoyed the reviews, i turn to this blog when i want to read a helpful review of a product before i buy it. This blog helped me realize that makeup is not about the price but the quality and your skill at the end of the day. Also this blog has been inspirational in my starting to start a makeup business after reading about how you dive into it so much that you even study ingredients of the makeup

My perception about beauty has always been that it needs to be perfect. The Beauty Junkee has now molded my thoughts that it's not about being perfect but it's about having the option to choose what you want and not need to go with what's in and what's new. I only trust a few reviews of products, and watching your reviews has really helped me to see what's best for me and my skin. There are no areas of mistakes when it comes to skin care. Thank you for helping me and other women accept what we can do for ourselves by choosing the products that is right for us.

Sa totoo lang noon iniisip ko na mas maganda pag walang nilalagay sa mukha simplehan lang kumbaga, iba pa din daw kasi ang natural beauty. Which is totoo naman, until nga last year when I started to follow The Beauty Junkee... the way Ms Martha explains her beauty tips sa mga live videos and blogs/vlogs nya nagkaroon ako ng interest about cosmetics, skin care products at kung anu ano pa. Noon kasi akala ko simpleng kolorete or arte lang yan sa mukha at sa katawan. Ngayon natutunan ko na paano mas pagandahin ang natural kong ganda at paano ito mapangangalagaan.
Can I be a little biased (haha) as I personally like Martha and actually look up to her because of her sheer confidence and grit. My perception of beauty is only strengthened by her strong conviction that you can be beautiful even if you are Morena or what have you.

Hi Ms. Martha. First, thank you for this chance that all the girls will have the opportunity to meet you in person.. The Beauty Junkee mold my perception about beauty simply because you encourage every women to stay beautiful at all ages. Honestly, I am a late bloomer. I just learned makeup and love makeups through my niece. She was the one who introduce me you The Beauty Junkee. I am so happy that I came in the right page in FB first. I've read some of the contents,ideas and all and I am more motivated to do what my passion says to me. When my niece inform me about the giveaway,since I am not online most of the time, she said that she really wanted to meet you and be part of the TBJ 9th Mega Anniversary. I was encouraged to join and try my luck to join. Actually, my niece, Laarni Oña joined in the first day she knew about the giveaway. She said she wanted to go with her twin toddler daughters. Answer to the Question: How did The Beauty Junkee mold your perception about beauty?
- Beauty can be interpreted completely different from person to person and that is something that I am really insecure of, because I always see myself less beautiful than others and I feel like I can't do what others can. Being one of your followers here on the blog, on your IG, twitter and specially on YT has really something to do with what I am right now. I started to be serious on taking care of my skin and pursuing to become a makeup artist someday (and yes I already accepted client's na po hihi). I also started my mini reviews on my IG (mcdanaleen) and blog (kirby25donna.wixsite.com/mcdanaleen89), sharing my thoughts and experience and you are one of my inspiration Ms. Martha. I know that it will take very very long time for me to become successful like you Ms. Martha, but I am glad that I already started this journey and it really makes me happy and contented. I also gained a lot friends on social media by doing that and I am really thankful that they are all nice to me though we really don’t know each other personally (but some are now my true friends in real life hihi). We really do support each other! My confidence went up since then and I see that the true beauty can also be found on other people’s heart like yours. I can say that the Beauty Junkee not just mold my perception about beauty, but it is indeed helping me to get closer and closer to my dreams. How did The Beauty Junkee mold your perception of beauty? I'm one of the newer followers of The Beauty Junkee. From what I've browsed through, I would say beauty's definition is molded by the media. It's about being in the loop - having skills and access to use the latest beauty products. Being beautiful is hard-work too. It seems that your beauty is validated when your finished product - usually one's made-up face - is liked in your various social media platforms. It can be taxing to engage your followers. But if beauty is your goal, if that's what you live for, (or maybe keeps you alive because it's your work) at the end of the day, it's worth it. :-)

🌟 Ilang Years na din ako ng Beauty Junkee and masasabe ko Lang ko sobrang interesting talaga 😊 actually hindi ako marunong magmake up or ano man na kolerete sa muka.
