THE VERDICT:

From being a skin care- infused makeup brand, Happy Skin moves to one of the pillar ingredients of their products: skin care! Happy Skin launched their simple and sweet skin care lines last year and I haven't gotten around to trying them out until recently. Oil Control Series, a line for oily skin, is a refreshing skin care line that makes oily skin types feel refreshingly moisturized and light!

Oil Control Series is a three- piece skin care that contains Centella Asiatica that stimulates collagen production and Vitamin C that helps brighten discolorations. 

The packaging is happy- looking and heavily inspired by Korean skin care aesthetic; I like how everything that you need to know is easily accessible on the box and everything is easy to understand.

Skin Smoothening Gel Facial Wash

This light foaming gel facial wash is refreshing, takes grime and oil away without drying out the skin, and Salicylic Acid helps dry breakouts and mattify skin.

Mattifying Ampoule ingredients

Mattifying Ampoule is a serum with a light, rich gel texture; it gives skin a light matte finish and an light, moisturizing effect.

Oil- Controlling Moisturizer ingredients

Oil- Controlling Moisturizer is a light, gel cream emulsion; this is an oil- free formula and helps balance the skin and provides a light matte finish.

The facial wash provides a gentle foam, which you can build up as you take more product. I like that it's a clear gel cleanser because it's devoid of wax and silicones that may make oily skin even oilier. Even if foams lightly, my face feels skin after using this and not dry; it's very easy to rinse off too.

The ampoule (or serum) has a nice texture; it reminds me of the dewdrop cake that went viral online last year. It's lightweight, very moisturizing and hydrating, and plumps skin with lost of moisture. It feels nice on the skin.

The moisturizer is very light and gets absorbed very quickly; it's the perfect summer moisturizer. However, I broke out with it; I don't know what's in it because my skin was okay with the two products.

Happy Skin's Oil Control Series is more of a maintenance and preventive skin care line more than a medicating/healing line; if oil is your only problem, this line will be enough for you because it controls oil well and won't clog oily skin. If you are dealing with zits, you will need to use it with an actual anti-acne skin care range. It's a good line, perfect for oily skin, for tropical weather, and as a summer skin care, but for the price, I wish it did actually heal pimples. But if you don't mind the price and you want a refreshing skin care line, try this!
