I recently got an email from an NY- based skin care brand that's new and specializes in Cannabis skin care. I am MIGHTY interested and at the brink of saying yes. However, Cannabis is illegal in the Philippines and even if its main component, CBD, is not considered a drug, the fact that it's from a plant that's considered a drug is a loophole might land me in jail. Baka matokhang ang beauty niyo!
In case you did not know, Cannabis is now the new high in skin care.
Cannabis, Ganja, Hemp, Marijuana, Mary Jane-it's been considered an illegal drug for so long, but recently, scientists have found that one of its extracts called CBD or Cannabidiol is a non- intoxicating compound and is found to soothe a variety of ailments ranging from inflammation, muscle pain, and even anxiety; it is widely used in holistic skin care methods and by herbalists abroad. As consciousness evolves, so do our choices; wellness and skin care trends are not only expanding, but also evolving this year as more brands and consumers look beyond the usual sources of beauty...including something as outrageous as Cannabis.
In my research, I've learned that this new beauty trend spawned a ton of new beauty brands hoping to capitalize on the Cannabis skin care trend. But surprisingly, there are multinational brands that have started to place their bet on this new trend; this goes to show that Cannabis in skin care can potentially become mainstream.
Here are some well- known brands that took the first puff of this smoking, hot trend:

Yay very interesting itong skin care na ito Ms.Martha yun nga lang illeegal ito ngayon satin bansa
ReplyDeleteOk lang naman siguro as long as it is tested.,
ReplyDeleteWhoa I'm so glad you brought the illegality of it. I've been so excited about Kiehl's Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and I've always wondered when it's gonna launch. I guess it won't launch any time soon here then. :( I hope our country will be more open minded when it come to the medical use of these plants.
ReplyDeletewell andami pa din naman na magagandang skin care! dun nako sa safe and effective, and what I mean safe is legally hehe
ReplyDeleteUnique!
ReplyDeletePero I think if ever maging legal na siya sa bansa natin mas madami pang maglalabasan na products using Cannabis plant.
If I manage to buy it from abroad and bring it here in the Ph, will the Ph police arrest me for having it in the airport?
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
