THE VERDICT:

My face, methinks, is on the final days of its war on acne; I hope I'm right about this and if I am, I'll throw a party; I've been breaking out since December!

Which leads me to another problem: Dark spots. My face gets spotty when acne heals, especially if it's cystic acne, which I've had an abundance of for the last two months so my correctors and heavy duty concealers have been working hard 24/7.

Catrice Camouflage Cream Concealer is one of the heavy duty concealers and correctors that I've had the pleasure of discovering a year or two ago, but unfortunately, I forgot to blog about it completely; it's only now that I remembered doing so because of this breakout so without further ado, let me introduce you to one of the best dark spot concealers that you will find in the drugstore!

Catrice Camouflage Cream Concealer is a cream concealer that can be used on the eyes, lids, and face to conceal dark spots, brighten skin, even out the skin tone, and provide a more even foundation coverage and finish. The concealer comes in about 2 or 3 shades, locally.

The shade selection is not impressive in all honesty, but I found one that's okay for my skin tone: 025 Rosy Sand. It's a light beige shade with a mix of pink and soft yellow undertones; it's not necessarily neutral and olive, but more pinkish; good for me anyway because pink is good for providing a mild tone correction for brownish spots; for deep brown spots however, go for peach.

Texture is a hard cream; it needs to be warmed up by swirling a finger around the pan or rubbing a small part of the surface to soften it up and to spread it easily, which leads me to say that I won't necessarily recommend this product as an under eye concealer because skin pulling and tugging would be an issue; well you can, but just use a concealer brush for softer application. On the face though, it's amazing.

With one and a half layers of Catrice Camouflage Cream Concealer in 025 Rosy Sand

Look at that! It covered my post- acne marks by at least 95%! I also love that it sits nicely on the skin and doesn't look cakey. If I apply two complete layers, concealing accuracy hits around 99%, but by then, it would start looking obvious that I am wearing a concealer on my face; not a problem though because once you cover it up with powder or liquid foundation, everything will even out. However, if you use pressed powder, it will look obvious that you are wearing a concealer on certain parts of your face so make sure that the final cover will be just as pigmented as the concealer or more.

TBJ TIP: dab the concealer on the skin to smooth out the coverage and make it look more natural

Staying power is good because of its hard cream texture; I use this on a workout day to cover my dark spots problem and I find that it clings well with minor fading.

I just wish that there are more shades available, but still, I consider this as one of the best correctors that you will find in the drugstore. If you have problems with dark spots and hyper pigmentation, you only need P300+ and to remember this name: CATRICE CAMOUFLAGE CREAM!
