THE VERDICT:

I'm only beginning to unbox the remaining packages I have received over the holidays because it has been all about work for me when 2019 started!

I've been feeling under the weather the whole weekend so I decided to stay at home and open the packages; one of which is Colourette's limited edition Christmattes lipsticks. I was hesitant in the beginning to blog about this because I thought it's only available during the holidays and no more already, but surprise, surprise, it's still available!

Now if you love neutral lipstick shades, this is the lipstick set for you!

Ingredients

Colourette Christmattes is a limited edition lipstick range made with their brand new matte formula; I'm guessing that this range was only a way to introduce the formula. There are 12 shades to choose from with names inspired by popular Christmas elements and themes.

Texture is a bit hard at first, but glide it for a couple of times on your lips and then it will start going. It's a creamy, balmy matte lipstick. The formula feels a bit thicker than other matte lipsticks because of the heavy moisturizing properties so it's something to consider if you don't like having the feeling of wearing anything on your lips. All the lipsticks have a light vanilla fragrance. It has good staying power because of the hard cream texture, but needs to be retouched after a meal. It is also non- drying, perfect for my perpetually dry lips.

Colourette has really good- looking neutrals; I give them that. It's like they got it down to a science as they really know which shades are in trend and will attract most women. These are beautiful neutrals and if there's one caveat with the product, it's that I find that the lipstick tends to develop a bit of crustiness as you use it; maybe it's because of the hard cream texture; maybe they don't use a lot of synthetics to hold it together; these are just guesses though! It doesn't really affect the performance of the lipstick in any way, but if you're particular with the look of your product, you may find this a bit odd. Other than that, I'd say that this is a good set to collect if you're into neutrals!
