THE VERDICT:

When was the last time I purchased and reviewed a Dior product. IT'S BEEN YEARS! I've been seeing on social media that the brand has been constantly innovating to stay relevant and that's always a good thing especially for discerning buyers like me.

Over the last few months and years, they released a couple of interesting and highly- raved products like the Diorshow Mascara, Airflash Foundation, and Lip Glow Lip Balm, which a lot of Filipinas have been raving about in social media as well. I picked up a tube while on vacation and holy moly, it's as good as everyone says; in fact, I wore it straight for a month because it's that good! Lip balm is just one of those 'okay' essentials for me, but I never thought that I'd rave about it one day; I've never loved a lip balm this much!

Dior Addict Lip Glow features color- reviving technology that adapts to the skin's natural technology to bring out the lips' natural pink hue. It features 9 shades.

All throughout my trip in Australia, I've seen how ubiquitous this lip balm is; I see a lot of women pulling it from their bags and retouching whether I'm in a restaurant or cruising the Great Ocean Road.

Apparently, it's a backstage secret of Dior makeup artists; they loved applying this balm prior lipstick or on top of lipstick if an instant texture switch is required. The shade I picked up is Raspberry; aside from the semi- glossy type, there's the shimmer and matte version as well. According to the sales assistant, this shade is the most popular, at least in that branch of Sephora.

Woke up like this. Kidding! It's Dior Lip Glow!
The lip balm has a soft, melting texture, but doesn't bleed around the lips; it's highly emollient, but not uncomfortable and heavy, very moisturizing, but non- sticky, and fragrant, but not overwhelming; it has Dior's signature floral vanilla scent that's been forever in their lip products and I like it! As for the moisturizing effect, I find it very moisturizing, but not the type that can treat dryness so it's something that has to be worn consistently to get its full effect.

Raspberry is a midtone pink with a light sheen; I like the right amount glossiness that it has plus the pink hue it gives doesn't look unnatural and tacky!

Raspberry suits my lips nicely, but what I have noticed is it starts off like that and after a few minutes, the color starts to deepen; it's perhaps the color reviving technology that's reacting to my lips. I've had a fair- skinned friend who tried it and the pink hue looks brighter on her lips compared to mine.

After a few more minutes, the lip balm starts to turn into a much warmer shade of pink; it eventually ends up looking like my lips that's naturally pink with just a hint of glossy balm; so pretty! Gosh, I miss the lips of my youth LOL!

DOES IT REALLY CORRECT THE TONE OF THE LIPS AND TURN IT PINK?

I've been seeing a lot of reviews saying that this lip balm corrects the tone of the lips; that is not true because the brand does not claim that; aside from being a tinted balm, the formula reacts with the body's chemistry to enhance the lips's color; it can only enhance what's there and when you stop using it, the pink hue disappears; I guess people only had this reaction because the lips remain naturally pink for about 30 minutes or so even after the lip balm comes off; the effect is not staining, however; it's literally your lips in a pinkish color and I think a non- verified, personal, but possible explanation behind this is the color reviving technology could probably stimulate the blood vessels or something like that, thus the lips can remain pinkish even for a period of time; it's just like the effect of lip plumpers, although this one makes lips turn pink.

Now that I mentioned that it may stimulate blood vessels, you might be wondering if it yields any sensation at all; no, it does not. It's plainly a lip balm.

They say lip color is a wardrobe that instantly defines your look; Dior Lip Glow is the lip wardrobe to wear if you just want to look pretty, fresh, and as if you're 22 LOL; lately, I'm more into the fresh look (just because it's the fastest makeup to do) and Dior Lip Glow is my perfect partner on this.

To wrap up this musing, I love the quality, finish, color, and technology behind the lip balm, plus the way it looks on me overall. Bottomline, it's just one of those products that you discover, use, and end up loving! If you're planning to splurge on lip balm, get this! I have yet to try that La Mer lip balm though because apparently, a lot are saying it's wonderful as well.
