THE VERDICT:
Avon's got a new base and it's the new Avon True Flawless Ultra Matte Cream to Powder Foundation. Cream to Powder foundations are seeing a new light nowadays as more and more people are getting into multipurpose beauty products or products that deliver more than one value. What's great about cream to powder foundations is it has a more matte finish than regular foundation and the formula can act as primer as well, making it great for oily skin. Let's check out Avon's version!
Ingredients |
Medium Beige |
The product comes in 9 shades; it's the product with the widest shade range that I've ever seen Avon offer; nice to know that they're taking little steps towards inclusivity.
The product is a cream foundation that comes with a sponge; there is a sponge compartment in the compact for hygienic storage. Consistency is a light, soft cream with a mousse- like trait, but still feels more like cream. Payoff is light to medium. Product is unscented.
Two layers of Flawless Ultra Matte Cream to Powder Foundation in Medium Beige |
Medium Beige is a medium beige shade with light pink undertones; how I wish it were yellow though so it won't look pale against my yellow tones.
Here's a close- up. When applied with the sponge, it can be a bit streaky so best to apply it with a flat top kabuki brush. Swiping won't do this product any justice and I find that dabbing it on the skin is the best way to apply it. It only yields medium coverage so if you have skin discolorations, it's best used with a corrector/concealer.
Regarding dry touch technology, it doesn't feel matte in an instant; allow a few minutes for it to set and by then, it will feel more powdery than wet. Still, regardless of the brand, I would recommend that you set cream to powder foundations with powder because we're not in a cold country where we can get away without setting foundation!
To add more coverage, I set it with tinted pressed powder. This product kinda' reminds me of Avon Magix Tinted Perfector, a good product they have released years back, but only with better coverage.
Staying power is good; it takes 3-4 hours before my face oils up, thanks to the cream-to-powder formula that somewhat acts as a primer and keeps everything intact longer.
I wish it were more pigmented because I like my foundations full, but for P399, it's a good buy for those with oily skin and even normal and dry skin because finish is not drying. If you only like a light touch of coverage and decent oil control, this may be a good product for you.
