THE VERDICT:

Thank goodness makeup minis became a thing; it's a dream come true for frequent travelers and makeup lovers who want to test out a certain product first before committing to purchasing the regular-and more expensive-version.

Two makeup products that I've been meaning to try are Fenty Beauty's Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter and the highly raved Gloss Bomb, which is dubbed as a 'universal lip gloss shade'. I was ecstatic when I learned that both are being offered as minis in the Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face set; I got one and I'm telling 'ya, this is set of glow weapons for the pocket that you should get if you want to glow like Rihanna!

Ingredients
Bomb Baby features Rihanna's coveted luminizers, Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow and Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hustla Baby.

Both products fit the palm of my hand; they're travel- friendly, but not necessarily tiny; these may be minis, but the packaging doesn't feel cheap. I actually like the gloss in this size because it's more pocketable; the original size of the gloss is pretty chunky and space- consuming. Meanwhile, I like the size of Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter because since it's pigmented, I figured that a small compact would be enough to last my waning interest in makeup brands and products; I doubt that you can hit pan on this mini highlighter in a year because it's pretty pigmented (more about the details below)!

Gloss Bomb has a chunky slightly- bent doe foot applicator; the applicator effectively removes viscosity while leaving a punch of color.

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter is embossed with the brand's initials; the highlighter is pressed well on the pan.

Gloss Bomb is a pretty honey nude shade with light gold shimmer. It is moisturizing, shiny AF, but not heavy and grossly sticky, but there's a hint of tackiness in it though as it's still lip gloss, after all. It smells freakishly good, like floral vanilla and a hint of candy; I can't stop pushing my lips up my nasal openings whenever I'm wearing this!

Hustla Baby is a midtone gold with light pink duo chrome; this is a pretty shade of gold; the pink undertone adds a fresh, healthy glow and finish is soft metallic. It's super pigmented; one swipe was all I needed to achieve that delicious, even color swatch. It is unscented and pigmentation is medium to heavy.

Let's try out the products:

Gloss Bomb Fenty Glow
Fenty Glow is a very pretty shade; its hue is pretty universal and I can see that it will look good not only on me, but on a lot of skin tones as well. A universally- flattering gloss indeed! I love the natural, basic, yet pretty look it gives!

Staying power is okay; it stays put for about 2-3 hours on me before it fades and if you're not eating.

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hustla Baby

Hustla Baby looks good on warm and fair skin, but I think it looks better on warm skin because of the gold shade. The highlighter glides on smoothly and the semi- creamy powder formula makes it easy to apply and gives you a sensorial experience; I love using a pointed face brush or a small tapered blending brush to get a more concentrated application. Another good thing I love about this product it can be easily applied by fingers; in fact, I like its finish more when I apply it with my fingers because it looks more natural; I think the powder reacts well with the skin; finally, I can glow while on the go and even without a makeup brush!

The finish of this highlighter is customizable; apply sparingly for a visible, yet natural- looking glow, and layer on for a megawatt glow, as if you're gonna perform at Superbowl.

Staying power of the highlighter is good; it stayed for about 5 hours on me before it faded for just a wee bit. I love using Hustla Baby on my apples, décolletage, brow arch bone and even on my apples if I want for an overall brilliant effect. Also, you can use this as highlighting eyeshadow!

The only con I ex

After trying out both famous Fenty Beauty products, I could say that I'm pretty happy with these mini versions and would repurchase them in the same size if ever I run out; it's practical, economical, and lets you try without the huge commitment. I've been bringing these glow weapons in my pocket for about a week now and I love them! If you love shiny, shimmery, sparkly things, looking good and radiant anytime, or you're simple a hardcore Rihanna fan, these products are for you!

  3. This looks so sooooooooooo good for something that seems so sheer. Can this be a dupe for the Glossier lip gloss?
I wish more and more brand would consider doing mini versions of their products. I mean come on, we can barely finish 1 whole lipstick within the time frame before the expiration date.
