THE VERDICT:

I have tried a lot of highlighters; they're great, but nothing has had quite an impact on me as Pat McGrath Sublime Skin Highlighting Trio, the highlighter that I am obsessed with lately. This resplendent trio has such a unique texture that I can't help, but spew "oohs" and "aahs" whenever I apply it on my skin (no kidding!).

Ingredients
Pat McGrath Sublime Highlighting Trio is a collection of liquid/cream/powder- textured highlighters in three universally- flattering finishes.

The packaging, again, is fabulous and feels solid enough to protect the three highlighters (I wouldn't dare drop this though). The compact seals through a magnetic closure and secured by a second, garter lock.

L-R: Iridescent Pink, Fine Gold, Bronze Nectar
The highlighters remind me of baked powders, although nothing in the website states that these are baked powders. I'm like you if you're thinking now that the highlighters look pretty adventurous and nothing seems to be apt for daily use, but my doubts were immediately settled after I swatched everything and even more so when I finally used them on my complexion.

L-R: Bronze Nectar, Fine Gold, Iridescent Pink
The trio features two skin- complementing shades: one for fair skin (Fine Gold) and one for warm skin (Bronze Nectar), and a universal quirky shade in Iridescent Pink. What makes the whole palette flattering are:

1. The undertones are yellow and gold, which are great for almost any skin tone and undertone
2. The pink highlighter has a bluish tone to it, which, just like yellow and gold, is great for any skin tone and undertone

I am also completely fine if there's no champagne, pearl, rose gold, or peach shades in this palette; we already have a lot of those.

What makes the formula of this highlighting palette special? It is because the hybrid texture has the pigmentation of powder, finish of liquid, and smoothness of cream; all the best features of the popular highlighter formats, the Mother was able to fuse in this nifty, gorgeous palette; methinks that this is primarily pigment and less fillers, hence the finish and pigmentation!

That said, using this highlighter is quite an experience: first touch and you'll get hooked by the smoothness; next, you'll be impressed by the skin- like, lightweight texture that isn't chalky and for some reason, doesn't look cakey no matter how many times you swirl your finger on the pan; and then your eyes will sparkle and your heart, flutter as you blend the highlighter and watch it seamlessly melt on your skin, making it look as if GLOW is in your DNA; then you will marvel at yourself because you're glowing evenly and beautifully in any angle; finally, you can't help but feel blessed because you have existed with the Mother and experienced her products in this lifetime LOL! But seriously, this highlighting trio is THAT sensual and I really enjoy using it!

Aside from the sensorial experience, what I love most about this palette is the highlighters are buildable yet don't look cakey or artificial at all, plus I love, love, love the dewy effect; no need to work with liquid highlighters! It also delivers subtle to megawatt glow, sans the chunky glitters and metallic powder fillers, which are great, btw, but are better off in Instagram makeup.

Check out the swatches:

A sheer wash of Fine Gold in this photo; a light tap of this shade on the highest points of my face give me a discreet glow.

Bronze Nectar x 2 for a bit of drama; I layered this shade twice and I achieved the dewy effect; fyi, this is the only bronze highlighter that I find to be very wearable, even during daytime.

Rockin' the night with Iridescent Pink. When I'm feeling funky or I'm going to an event or night out, I swipe on this shade because it doubles as a blush too; the duochrome pink shade adds a fashionable flair to my overall makeup.

The highlighters are long- lasting and can be used as eyeshadow and for ombre lip looks too.

Overall, I love this palette because of the amazing packaging, unique texture, shade combination, and the fact that I can wear bronze, gold, and pink highlighter anytime I want because thanks to the formula, it's so customizable that it can suit any makeup look for any occasion! Highly recommend!
