THE VERDICT:

Know what? I don't necessarily dig the always on fleek, blinding highlighter look even if I love my highlighters. I guess it is because I have naturally oily skin and too much highlighter highlights the problem (pun intended).

Most of the time, I like my highlighters 'just right'; it's shiny, but not too much; it catches your eyes briefly like the ray of sun and goes away as you move around; most of all, I just want it to mimic the sun softly shining down on my face and hitting its highest points.

Most highlighters that offer this effect is quite rare in my opinion; it's either they're sparkly or made for Instagram (aka on fleek). That's why I'm pleased to discover Revlon Sunlit Dream Highlighting palette, a light to medium coverage highlighter quartet that's just like a ray of sunlight on your face!

Revlon Sunlit Dream highlighting palette features four shades of highlighter in an easy to blend formula for a customized look.

The palette I have is called 002; not sure if there's 001, but there's a Revlon cheek products that completely looks like this, but it's called Insta-Sculpt.

Packaging looks sleek and classy; it's slim and handy for travelers and I could imagine it as a great retouching tool for makeup artists that they can bring in their belt bags during shoots.

L-R:

Champagne pewter
Pale champagne
Light gold
Yellow gold

The powders are smooth, pigmentation is good, coverage is medium to heavy, and I like that it sits nicely on the skin; it's not chalky, has no fragrance, and doesn't look heavy on the skin.

I blended all the powder shades on my skin here.

What I love about the powder is it blends seamlessly on the skin and with each other that I can create varying levels of light play on my features. My skin looks fresh and healthy whenever I have this powder on. I also love that it's not overly shimmery and the shine intensity is definitely customizable. Staying power is just okay though; the sheen is almost gone by night so I have to retouch.

If you're like me who's not too fond of the Insta-highlighter look, subtle, glow- mimicking highlighters like Sunlit Dream Palette is something that you should definitely check. Been wearing it for 1 week straight now. Yup, I like it!

  1. The subtle glow really looks refreshing here! I thought It was gonna be more expensive than 600. This looks like a good competitor against the other highlighters in the market.
