THE VERDICT:

When Sephora did a pop- up at Forever 21 Makati, Huda Beauty New Nude palette was one of the displays and highlighted products. I was immediately attracted to the color combination and found the textures unique, specifically the glitter eyeshadows. Since then, it has always been part of my wishlist and when given the chance to review, I immediately took it!

Now this is my new favorite eyeshadow palette and the one that I'd recommend from Huda Beauty.

Huda Beauty New Nude eyeshadow palette is the classic nude palette like you've never seen before.

Huda Beauty New Nude palette features 17 eyeshadow shades in matte, satin, metallic, shimmer, and glitter finishes, and one concealer as eyeshadow base. The matte eyeshadows are formulated with Aloe Vera and Coconut Oil plus high quality pigments for a highly pigmented finish and smooth application. The glitter eyeshadows are infused with silicones for effective adherence. One pressed pearly eyeshadow has Acacia, Jojoba, and Sunflower wax for a high shimmer finish.

Among all of Huda Beauty's full palettes, this one is the most compact to me; the first palettes such as Desert Dusk and Rose Gold were pretty bulky. Overall, I like the simplicity and compactness of the palette.

Upon opening this palette, you'll be stunned, I'm telling you because it's so gorgeous! The varying textures make this palette an eye candy; I am telling you, I couldn't stop staring at it!

The palette isn't actually nude or even neutral by standard; it's more pinkish and purplish, but when you finally work a few shades on your lids, it has this nude quality to it, like nude pink/nude purple, if you get what I'm saying; maybe this is why Huda called this the 'New Nude'.

So what's up with this texture combination? Huda wanted this palette to be as flexible as possible; there are mattes for a classic, everyday look; metallics are meant to transform the look from day to night, glitter shadows can be used to instantly glam up the look, the single pressed pearl (Crave) tones down the intensity of the matte eyeshadow, and the reflective eyeshadows are for adding a duo chromatic finish and to add an interesting color play on your overall eyeshadow look. Plus points for the concealer/eyeshadow base; no need for me to bring a separate eyeshadow base when traveling. I love the concept behind this palette because it has almost everything that I need to create an eyeshadow look or transform it anytime I please. Brilliant eh?

13 CONCEALER BASE- nude beige with a matte finish.

The eyeshadows are superbly buttery; everything from the mattes, reflective eyeshadows, glitters, and metallics. They're so pigmented, easy to blend, and the colors are stunning. The concealer base seemed too light for me, but when I tried it on, it actually complemented the colors and made them appear more vivid.

Spanked on my outer lids, Bare on my inner lids, Tease on my crease, and Crave all over Tease and half of Bare
My favorites in the palette are the glitter eyeshadows; they adhere so well even on top of powder and don't need an eye primer because it has a built in one! However, if you have oily lids, it's best to apply it on top of an eye primer/concealer base or cream shadow. The reflective pearls are instant look changers: just sweep one on top of your current look to instantly sport a totally different eye makeup. The single pressed pearl eyeshadow (Crave) is also more of a corrective shade; I love using this on top of matte eyeshadow if I find it too strong or dark, and voila! The intensity is minimized and brings back that natural, sheer, nude look in an instant.

Staying power is good; the eyeshadow adhere well on the skin with very little to no fall out for some textures; the concealer base has okay staying power, but use a separate eyeshadow primer if you have very oily lids.

This is my most favorite Huda Beauty palette to date! New Nude is nude eyeshadow palette redefined: the shades complement a lot of skin tones, plus the way the palette is designed is genius because it allows you to change your look anytime you please, has pretty much has all the types and amount of eyeshadow textures that I'd like to see in my palette, and it definitely brings out the creative in me. I swear, this palette made me love wearing eyeshadow again on a daily basis. Highly recommended!

  1. I’m lucky enough to own this palette thru an Instagram giveaway. I never thought I would own a high end palette like this. The first time I swatched it I was blown away and told myself “this is what buttery means when beauty gurus dip their fingers on the palette”. I just love looking at this beautiful palette as well as using it. I’ve used it a couple of times but not all the shades.
