THE VERDICT:
At the helm of Western skin care sits French beauty brands; the buzz in the beauty community has always been "French beauty brands are really good, especially skin care"; one of these brands is Embryolisse. About a year or two ago, Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate became viral online and popular among local beauty groups as 'one of the best multitasking, daily moisturizers for dry, sensitive skin'.
But even before this product became viral online, it has been viral in backstage fashion shows; in fact, I remember 2 or 3 makeup artists who have either used this product on me as moisturizer or as a makeup kit dweller. Embryolisse Lait Concentrate is considered a makeup artist holy grail, a product just as hardworking as the heroes of backstage for it works as a moisturizer, primer, and makeup remover. The formula is said to be so soothing on sensitive skin that makeup artists use a generous amount to treat models' skin after wearing too much makeup for hours and days.
A dear friend finally gave me my very own tube when she got back from a Paris vacation. I immediately put it to the test and judging from the look of the tube, it's heavily used (and abused) and I did not get to take a photo of it when it was new any longer because I just loved using it!

Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate is a cult French skin care product that acts as a moisturizer, makeup remover, and primer. It is made up of fatty acids and vitamins that soothe, heal, and protect the skin, plus formula is ideal for sensitive skin types. It is said that Lait Concentrate is so popular that when people say Embryolisse, oftentimes, they only refer to this product; it's that famous!
The product is comes in simple, no- nonsense packaging: simple, French pharmacy classic design, a box, and a metal tube with a sealed opening to guarantee product integrity. There's air inside the tube so naturally, the smooth, streamlined look will begin to flatten and look crinkly; I have no issue with the look except that when you pierce the tube, the product keeps on coming out continuously, although very slowly; just seal the cap right away when not in use.
This all- around cream has a rich, emollient consistency and beautiful creamy floral scent. Immediately, it moisturizes skin upon contact and leaves it smooth and hydrated; it's pretty thick though so you would have to let it sit and allow the skin to absorb it that's why I only use a small amount; it should be good considering our weather.
The consistency is as such because France has a drier, cooler climate and people there mostly suffer from dry skin. That said, I brought this with me to my US trip; it was between 14-21 degrees the whole time I was in the West Coast and this product has been my skin and time savior: it served as a good cold weather moisturizer, the semi- matte texture gives it that makeup primer effect (although it's not really marketed as a primer and oily skin types would need to use a separate primer), and when applied generously, it becomes a makeup remover (but not ideal for eye makeup removal).
The whole time I was using this product, my skin felt protected and properly moisturized the entire day even in 14- degree weather and without retouching. The scent makes me feel feminine and good as well. My aunt who has extremely sensitive skin used this one time and luckily, her skin didn't react!
Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate is your good ol' moisturizer with a twist. I think another reason why this product became famous, aside from its multi- tasking, tried and tested formula is it's a multitasking product that makes people's lives' easier, especially during work. Sometimes, all we need is a product that simply answers some of our beauty needs in one go; this is one of them.
I'm almost done with my tube and I'd gladly repurchase!

We women need a multi tasking product for our skin. To bad it only works for cold climates.
