THE VERDICT:
Shiny everything is the new trend in cosmetics right now, especially among the youth. I could use me some shiny makeup because I've always been fascinated by anything sparkly and glittery; blame it on my obsession with celestial bodies, diamonds, and holographic stuff back in grade school...which I still have in me until now.
Mark by Avon, the hip, trendy sub- brand of Avon unveils the new Mark Prism Lipstick collection. This juicy, pigmented collection is packed with pearl particles for out of this world shimmer and shine.
The new Mark by Avon Prism Lipstick is formulated with Pearl Elixir, a multi- reflective formula that delivers a high shine finish; 20 shades of shiny, luscious lipsticks that deliver 4,000 pearl particles in each swipe for lips that shine in every angle.
I received 9 shades from this range. I believe we are carrying 9 shades locally. The lipstick comes in duo chrome deep violet tube with the brand name engraved on the lipstick.
Here are the 9 shades:
Celestial Crush
Energy Flash
Interstellar
Futuristic Dreams
Blast Off
Nude Eclipse
Reflective Scandal
Aura On
Hyper Fusion
Judging from the swatch photo on top, Prism only seems like a basic sparkly lipstick, but this angle shows you that the lipsticks are brimming with pearl particles. Love the high shine effect the pearls give, but sometimes, they're just too much and I get some residue around my chin and surrounding areas of the mouth during wear; not a biggie for me, but if you're OC, this may be an issue.

Hyper Fusion |
Chocolate brown with silver shimmer
Here's a close- up of the lipstick for appreciation. Mark by Avon Prism lipstick is a satin/shimmer lipstick. Texture is similar to Avon's satin lipsticks; it's balmy, juicy, and very moisturizing. Despite the moisturizing texture, the lipstick does not bleed around during wear. Pigmentation is very good as well and color finish is great, especially for the darker shades; the lighter ones can be a bit patchy though. Also, you can appreciate more the high shine, diamond effect on the darker shades; this is not to say that the lighter shades are not shiny enough--they are, but since the pigments are light, it's harder to see the high shine effect unless you check it closely or are under a bright light.
Staying power is not that impressive since finish is glossy; it's something you have to retouch after a meal, but I'm just happy that it doesn't bleed around the lips. Smells really nice too!
Mark by Avon Lipstick is a great alternative to your usual lipsticks, although I wouldn't say it's necessary to collect all; just one, two, or three are enough as alternatives that you can use anytime you want to wear something trendy and bold. I highly recommend Reflective Scandal and Blast Off!
