THE VERDICT:
I've been meaning to try one of The Balm's famous products, Time Balm Concealer. I know a couple of friends who swear by this concealer while some keep it around as they explore other brands and formulas as it's their classic and a no- brainer go to when nothing simply works for them.
I received a few samples from The Balm and no kidding, I've been using the concealer frequently since I got it! My aging, dry under eyes are loving its creamy, soothing formula that stays on! And finally, I found a cream concealer that doesn't drag, making it perfect for under eye use!
The Balm Time Balm Concealer is a cream concealer for the under eyes. The skin- loving formula has Vitamins A, C, and E plus Panthenol to fight wrinkles, dullness, and roughness. It comes in 9 shades.
I got two shades: Light and Mid-Medium; my shade is Mid-Medium.
The pot is huge; it's 7.5g of product and pigmentation is medium to heavy so expect this one to last for a while even with daily use; I read a review saying that user used it for two years both as concealer and foundation, and it lasted her two years; imagine if you will use this product as concealer only! The product also comes with a soft sponge that thankfully doesn't have a rubbery odor; I use this to thin out the coverage of needed and press it on the concealer to help it set properly.
Texture is soft cream. It needs little to no warm up as it's quite soft unlike other cream concealers. It's pretty pigmented as well that I sometimes use it to cover post- acne marks on my skin. Product is unscented.
Let's put it to the test.
Bare under eye
Two layers of Time Balm in Mid-Medium |
Despite the cream formula and pretty heavy coverage, I like that the product looks just like second skin on my under eyes. It's so spreadable so bye bye crow's feet and additional under eye wrinkles!
TBJ TIP: best way to apply this concealer is through dabbing.
Mid-Medium is a warm beige shade with yellow undertone. It fits my skin tone perfectly. If you're on the fairer side, this can work as a dark circle corrector.
You know when you age, you tend to experience dry spells here and there; lately, it's on my under eyes so I'm more into creamier concealers lately. With Time Balm, my under eyes feel and look nourished throughout the day even if I skip eye cream; I don't like using eye cream during day time so the formula of this concealer works for me!
Regarding staying power, on normal days, it stays put the whole day with very minimal fading; it doesn't crease on me, but I read that on very wrinkly skin and very dry skin, it tends to crease; if these are your problems, moisturize first before usage.
Aside from the skin care properties, I love this concealer for it works well with my dry under eyes and the formula is so smooth and it's one of the few (if not the only) cream concealers that's perfect for under eye use.
