THE VERDICT:

When readers with dry skin used to ask me for makeup setting spray recommendations, I could barely recommend anything because setting spray are meant to mattify and seal makeup, which is godsend for oily skin, but can be disastrous for dry skin.

Good thing makeup formulas are now more inclusive for different skin types. I have recently discovered one good makeup setting spray for dry skin: Beauty Blender Re-Dew Set and Refresh Spray; it doubles as a fixing spray too!

Ingredients

Beauty Blender Redew Setting Spray is a hydrating, anti- dullness makeup mist and setting spray. Formula contains Hyaluronic Acid, White Birch extract, fermented extracts, and Hydrolyzed Silk to keep makeup looking fresh and dewy the whole day.

Packaging is pretty huge; there are two caps on this product: the big pink one and a small white one.

Redew is a dual- phase setting mist that consists of charged water and a milky solution that contains hydrolyzed silk; the formulas don't separate too much though so you don't need to shake it vigorously before usage.

The product features a unique pump; it's a classic atomizer that delivers a fine, wide mist; the mist is so fine that the first time I used it, I thought it was broken LOL. That's why I place the nozzle close to my face and spray thrice in a downward motion to cover my entire face. I love the pump on this one because it gives the effect of aerosol sans the can packaging and harmful CFC! Brands should follow Beauty Blenders example!

After usage, my face immediately looks and feels fresh; since it doesn't contain oil, it doesn't give face a sticky after- spray feel. It sets makeup without the tautness, dryness, and full matte finish; overall, the result is dewy, fresh, and soft- looking makeup.

The great thing about this product is it keeps my makeup looking hydrated for hours--even without retouching; I could imagine the wonders this product can do for dry skin! When it comes to oil control, it keeps oil at bay for about 5-6 hours; it's okay, but I like this more for the refreshing effect on my makeup.

Overall, I definitely feel that this product is great for dry skin types and combination oily-dry skin; gals with moderately oily skin may benefit from this as well because it provides hydration (which is great for sebum reduction) but without the heaviness and slick!
