THE VERDICT:
One of The Balm's most famous products is the Lou-Manizer series; it started with the main girl, Mary Lou-Manizer, dubbed by many as a good highlighter/shadow for its light- infusing and diffusing properties without the serious wallet damage.
The Lou-manizer series has since added new girls to the bunch: Cindy Lou-Manizer, Betty Lou-Manizer, and Bonnie Lou-Manizer.
It's my first time to try The Balm's famous highlighter and I say it's great for achieving that glass skin effect with makeup!
Ingredients |
Bonnie Lou-Manizer is a highlighter, shimmer, and shadow in one. Made with fine, shimmer pigments to give your features that much needed glow and lift.
The Balm expanded the range to cater to various skin tones. The original, Mary Lou-Manizer, is a peachy champagne that's great for fair to medium skin tones in my opinion.
Before we get to the swatch, here's the packaging: the compact is huge; it's definitely gonna last me a while even if I use it as shadow and highlighter. However, it seems like the powder is not pressed well in the pan so you gotta be careful when handling the product.
Bonnie Lou-Manizer is a pale gold shade that's perfect for morenas. It has a smooth, buttery texture and comparing it to other highlighters, this one is more shimmery than glittery. It is unscented.
The soft, shimmery color payoff allows you to blend the product into a seamless finish to mimic that glass- like glow. With a fluffy brush, I sometimes use it as an overall powder for a glowing-in-all-angles look. Also great for adding a sheer, glowing wash of gold on the lids!
Staying power is good. I also like that it doesn't leave glitter residue all over my face.
Overall, Bonnie Lou-Manizer is a good quality highlighter that lets you achieve glass skin with makeup. Fairly affordable considering the size and quality too!
Have you tried this already? What are your thoughts?
