THE VERDICT:

Skinpotions' Glam Pocket ad has been running for quite a while now on my Instagram feed and I must say, I was very intrigued and have been anticipating the launch since the products reminded me very much of Polly Pocket, one of my favorite toys back in childhood days.

Also, let's all admit that the packaging is just too darn cute to miss. Here I go again with my obsession with packaging!

Skinpotions has just launched and it's more than just packaging; this awesome versatile color palette features a cream color and cream highlighter for the lips, lids, and cheeks; it's smooth, silky matte color that gives me a pretty, glowing, rosy look!

Skinpotions Glam Pocket is described by the brand as a multi-way cheek color and highlighter; it's a do-what-you-want color palette and you can apply it on the lids, lips, and cheeks for that trendy, monotone look.

The products are sold as a set and retails for P1,599 and will come with a 90's inspired holographic back pack. How cute! The backpack feels sturdy too!

Glam Pocket's packaging is indeed super cute! The aesthetic and campaign are somewhat inspired by the colorful 90's fashion trend; think Benetton, tie dye, and color blocking! But in this particular case, Polly Pocket!

Cute locker- inspired box. Skinpotions really thought about this! I love how so much thought has gone to the aesthetic and creation of the packaging. 

The packaging feels solid and posh as well; doesn't feel like a P349 product to me! A lot were comparing it to Blythe's Face Palette, but this one is actually smaller, fits my palm, and features a highlighter instead of eyeshadows. But yeah, pretty much same concept and that is double pan in a compact.

Here are the swatches.

You know, sometimes, some products are just beautiful aesthetically, but they're just that; the products don't live up to standards. For this particular product, I was quite impressed because the products have good quality, particularly the cream color.

The cream color has a silky cream to powder matte texture; it has a sheer consistency, but very pigmented, buildable, and very easy to spread; it does not remove makeup, can be layered under or over powder, and does not cake. Compared to Blythe's cream blush (I know this question is coming),  both are very pigmented and fairly easy to use, but this is friendlier to oily skin since finish is powder matte.

The cream highlighter is mousse-cream type with a powder matte finish as well; unlike the cream color, this one has a slightly puffy consistency and you have to swirl your fingers gently on the pan to pick up just the right amount of product; it applies quite smoothly and looks fairly natural when buffed onto the skin properly.

Here are the Glam Pocket color and highlighter duos:

Chill Pill

Color- deep brown rose
Highlighter- bronze gold

This one has a great color that suits morena skin tone very well, but I find the highlighter too bronze for cheek use so I use it as eyeshadow instead.

Clueless

Color- deep rose
Highlighter- bronzed rose

This duo is my most favorite because both products complement each other so well as well as my skin tone; I like how the highlighter has a rosy tint that I can use it on its own as a radiant blush.

The Bomb

Color- warm peach
Highlighter- pearl pink

This is the duo to get if you want the signature K-Beauty peachy blushing look. IMO, this one has the best highlighter shade among all the duos.

Fo Shizzle

Color- salmon pink

Highlighter- nude champagne

This duo is perfect for medium skin tones and is a great summery shade.

Clueless duo on my cheeks and lids

Chill Pill on my cheeks, lids, and lips

Whenever I will use the cream color on my lids, I set my lids with translucent powder first as primer and then I apply the product. I then set it with the same powder afterwards to seal the color and improve longevity.

On the lips, it functions as a soft matte lip color with a powdery finish. I like how the color looks even and smooth, plus it conceals fine lines on my lips as well; it's a little drying though so I prep my lips with lip balm first before usage.

On my cheeks, I use it before powder, after powder to increase intensity, and set it finally with translucent powder.

Staying power of the products is okay; it can last for hours if set properly, but fades by around 50% around day's end; it's something that you need to retouch during wear.

Overall, I love Glam Pocket: it's so cute, the products are so versatile, and it's probably the best cream blush with cream-to-powder format that I have used; it's generally pleasant and easy to use because it has very good texture and quality; the trendy, universal colors are a plus as well. As we say in Filipino, "maganda ang 'pahid'" and it's one of the reasons why I love this product; the texture is just great!
