THE VERDICT:

Mark my words: Cleansing Balm will be the next big thing across Asia and perhaps, the world; well maybe not in South Korea anymore since they're always ten steps ahead in beauty and they have invented cleansing balms in the first place, but for the rest of us, it will be the new preferred way of cleansing.

I freakin' love cleansing balms! It's one of the best beauty inventions to me so far because it's convenient, economical, practical, and mess- free. Banila Co.'s Clean It Zero Balm has always been my favorite, but it costs a pretty penny though! I'm just glad that brands are starting to come up with their own cleansing balms like Skinpotions and the new Melt Away Marmalade Cleansing Jelly, which is the most affordable cleansing balm yet!

Ingredients

Skinpotions Melt Away Marmalade Cleansing Jelly is a cleansing balm that promises to remove waterproof makeup, impurities, and dirt with an oil-to-milk formula that takes you from makeup removal to face rinsing. It is made with skin- caring, moisturizing Macadamia Nut seed extract that prevents dryness, leaving skin thoroughly clean, but soft and supple. It is free from Paraben, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Silicone, Sulphate, and Phosphate.

The balm, since it has oil extracts in it and free from petroleum and mineral oil, fares a little softer than most cleansing balms. It has beeswax, but only a minimal amount and it's not enough to keep the whole balm solid. I don't really mind any of this; as long as it looks like a cleansing balm, I'm fine; if you like your ingredients natural or prefer something that has none of petroleum or silicone, then you will like this product.

Onto the packaging; the packaging has a really cute concept: it's a like a basket of fruit since the balm is richly- scented with Marmalade. If you're a big fan of orange- scented stuff, you will like this product. I'm okay with the scent; not a huge fan of marmalade though, but I don't find it offensive. I appreciate also that it has a spatula!

My small issue with the entire product is there was minor leakage on the mouth of the jar when it got to me; thankfully, the extra plastic disc cover helped keep the rest of the product inside the jar and it wasn't such a chore to clean because the product rinses off easily with water. That said, don't store the product sideways to prevent leakage and when transferring to a small jar for travel, seal the jar tightly or place a cling wrap before the jar cover for reinforcement.

Here's how much gunk the jelly can remove and I only used two pea- sized amounts to cover my entire face and remove this much makeup. The product softens right away as it touches my skin; it gets activated by body heat and functions pretty much as an oil makeup remover.

I've wet a portion of my face to show that it emulsifies, thus it doubles as a facial cleanser and makes the product very easy to rinse off.

Mah face feeling clean, fresh, and suppler after cleansing! What's great about this product is it also removes excess oil from the skin without stripping off moisture or making it feel greasier; fyi, oil is the best way to remove oil!

Pretty happy with this product considering its affordability; Skinpotions Melt Away Marmalade Cleansing Jelly is affordable and has really good quality, plus free from a lot of chemicals that may hurt the skin. This is a great intro for those who are on a budget, but would like to get to know cleansing balms better!
