THE VERDICT:

I love stick foundation to death! I used to ignore this foundation before, but life gets busy and you sink deeper into adulthood, multitasking products become an essential and are godsend; this is exactly what a stick foundation is. Stick foundation acts as a foundation and concealer in one. Most of the stick foundations that I like are high end brands just because they perform well from coverage to staying power, but Revlon just changed the game and came out with Colorstay Life-Proof Foundation; a good stick foundation that's under P1000!

The new Colorstay Life-Proof Foundation Stick is a medium coverage foundation stick that promises a semi- matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours. It has SPF 27 and comes in 10 shades locally.

Colorstay Life-Proof only has 11 shades available, but we have 10 here locally. The shades, however, lean on the fair side and even the darkest shade is a tad bit lighter on me; it's because of the high SPF content in the formula; overall, the shades have to be re-worked in my opinion.

On the bright side, the foundation has a smooth, creamy-powdery finish, but it doesn't look streaky at all, which is the case with some stick foundations with the same finish. Formula is unscented.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting a really good finish because for so long, I've only believed that high end stick foundation brands can only deliver great coverage, but Revlon's new foundation proved me wrong! Look at my skin: it looks silky, coverage looks smooth and even, and overall, feels light on the skin. It's easy to blend and even out too. If you have very heavy discolorations, use a separate concealer and corrector, and apply at least two layers of the foundation to beef up coverage.

I'm wearing the shade in 340 Early Tan. It's like NC40 in MAC's shade system. This is the darkest shade in the line. Finish is semi- matte.

Here's my face after 6 hours of wearing Colorstay Life-Proof Foundation and without retouching; foundation looked intact on the rest of my face and oil production on my T-Zone area is just minimal.

When I learned that this features Revlon's Colorstay technology, I had no doubts that this product will deliver because Colorstay is quite legendary in the affordable foundation department!

In terms of quality, finish, coverage, and lasting power, Life-Proof Foundation is seriously good and I love that it's less than P1,000 only for a product that performs well. I just wish that they will fix the shades soon and be more inclusive when it comes to the selection.
