2020 is the year to start something new so I decided to go for a pretty unusual color; something that I wouldn't choose first if I'm looking at hair color swatches. I figured, different is good, but not just any kind of different; I wanted it to be a bold kind of different; it was making me feel real uneasy at first, but growth is always uneasy in the beginning! This hair color could be the start of a new style for me!
My taste may be gearing towards the new, but my heart will always have a spot for one of my tried and trusted in the industry: Lourd Ramos!
Lourd was one of the first salon entrepreneurs who believed in my blog and incidentally, one of the first people to color my hair! It's been a while so I visited Lourd for that much- needed hair color change; see him work his magic!
Lourd has come a long way from his first Creations Salon in Greenbelt 5; to date, there are a handful of branches and one of his new ones is Creations by Lourd Ramos at BGC Stopover, BGC, Taguig City. Love the modern, eclectic vibe and unfinished touches on the walls and fixtures.
So this is my hair prior the treatment.
Before coloring my hair, I asked for a hair cut. Instead of sitting down, Lourd asked me to stand up; he combed my hair, assessed it for a bit and in one swift move, he cut my hair. I asked him why he prefers to cut hair while standing up and he said that it's for precision; this allows him to assess the customer's hair cut needs much more precisely. Cool!
Lourd decided to retain my base color, which is a dark shade of brown; he just added golden highlights to create the balayage effect. That moment, I felt his expertise as a hair stylist; while most salons would push you to use as many dyes as you can, Lourd decided to work with what I have; he also said that my hair looked very dry so in order to avoid further damage, he just used one color.
Afterwards, he rinsed my hair using a silver toner treatment to achieve the ash effect. Finally, he gave my hair a softening treatment.
Voila! Ash Brown Balayage, achieved! I really liked how it turned out! It was the lightest I've gone for hair color, but I wasn't put off or anything because the color complimented my skin tone very well; in fact, it made my morena skin tone look richer!
My hair one week after. It started to look a bit more golden, but as advised by Lourd and his team, Purple shampoo and conditioner twice a week are all I need to prolong the ash tone.
I recommend Creations by Lourd Ramos if you're looking at sporting the same hair color! :)
Now since we're talking about hair, check out the various hair trends to keep an eye on this 2020:

3. LILAC HAIR
- Step aside, rainbow hair! Lilac hair will be the biggest hair trend this 2020. The soft, romantic tone of lilac will become a hit because it's a bold, statement hair color that looks good on a lot of skin tones.
