THE VERDICT:

I have started to wear face sunscreen much more frequently ever since I have incorporated acids in my routine; one time, I went out in the sun for too long and without protection, and the next day, I had dark sun spots on my chin and forehead that were shaped like maps; yikes! The diagnosis wasn't official, but they looked like sunburn and sunspots; I have applied a lightening serum and wore sunscreen diligently until they went away. Now I make it a point to wear sunscreen at least 95% of the time most especially after treating my face with acids the night before!

The face sunscreen that I loved using for the last two months is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Waterlight Lotion because it is incredibly lightweight and provides high protection with zero white cast, plus feels pretty moisturizing on the skin to boot; it's every makeup lover's dream come true!

Ingredients

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Waterlight Lotion features SPF 50+ PA +++ and Helioplex, a proprietary SPF technology that stays invisible yet effectively blocks UVA and UVB rays. Dry Touch technology gives it a non- sticky and non- oily texture.

Consistency is milky and has a fruity floral scent; it's a bit strong in the beginning, but goes away after a couple of seconds; it may not be favorable to some, but I actually like the scent; this one drips because of its watery consistency so be wary as it may stain clothes and other surfaces.

The product blends in fast and easily; it dries into a semi- matte finish and does not feel as if you have something on your face at all; there are sunscreen products in similar formulas yet they feel "thick" and "warm" on the skin, but this one isn't.

What I love most about this product is it's high SPF, but yields zero white cast---AS IN! I can apply a lot and no ma, still no white cast! It also has a mild moisturizing effect, which supports my actual moisturizer and provides a good base for makeup. This sunscreen is makeup- friendly!

This sunscreen makes use of chemical SPF actives so check if you are allergic to any of the actives before usage; chemical sunscreen actives are not reef- friendly as well so I only use this in the city.

Overall, this is such a good sunscreen. In fact, I have finished it just this week and I will surely buy another one!
