The lockdown has been extended because the fight isn't over; the initial lockdown has proven to be extremely taxing, challenging, and stressful for everyone, especially for our frontliners; now they need us more than ever to sustain their spirits and needs to continue fighting COVID-19.
Did you know that you can be in the frontlines with our heroes while still staying at home and helping them flatten the curve? It's through your donations!
Through Paymaya, you can donate through various organizations that help our frontliners and the poor. Most organizations have bank payment/transfer as their primary option and if you're not comfortable with the idea of going out to complete your donation in a bank because...pandemic, you can do it via Paymaya! I'll show you how!
First, you have to have a Paymaya account. Click HERE for a set- up guide.
Make sure you have money in your Paymaya account. Transfer money from your bank account to Paymaya first; just log into your online banking account to facilitate the transfer. You can also transfer from non-bank accounts; just go HERE to check the complete list of their partner merchants.
Now that you're set- up, look for your preferred beneficiary. I suggest go to legitimate news sources for a complete list of verified organizations and charities working together with the public and other private sectors to procure food, PPEs, transportation, medical equipment, and other materials needed by the frontliners.
Now let's start donating. Log into your Paymaya account. Click BANK TRANSFER.
My chosen beneficiary is JUAN SPARK YOUTH LEADERS; I chose to support them because they're helping the poor, specifically in Rizal, who have been deeply affected by the lockdown; there are a lot of relief and donation efforts focused in Manila and this time around, I wanted to support those who help outside Manila.
Going back, when you click BANK TRANSFER, you will be shown a drop down list showing the banks that you can transfer funds to with Paymaya. Paymaya uses INSTAPAY as their financial gateway partner.
When you have finally chosen which bank you will transfer funds to, fill in the details. Be sure to double check before hitting send!
Voila! You are done! Funds transferred, frontliners helped! The next page will show the current status of your donation; after this page, I was redirected to another one that said PROCESSING PAYMENT; it takes about a day or a few hours for your funds transfer to reflect in the bank. You will also receive an SMS from Paymaya regarding the transfer.
And that's it! Easy peasy! Thank goodness for Paymaya; they have made it so much easier for people to become more proactive online.
If you're interested to donate to Juan Spark Youth leaders, please click HERE. There are other organizations that need your help too so please consider them as well.
