THE VERDICT:
When Vice Cosmetics teased us with a new product reveal in their previous posts on Instagram, I immediately thought that it's an eye product just because coronavirus and eyes will most likely be the focus in makeup now for the rest of 2020. Turns out it's a makeup brush collection! Not what I expected, but still, it's a pleasant surprise!
Vice Cosmetics Gandoll Pink brush collection are high quality brushes at an affordable price tag! Let me detail with you what makes these brushes great and worth purchasing!
Vice Cosmetics Gandoll Pink Brush Collection are four individually- packaged makeup brushes made with vegan, cruelty- free bristles. The pilot collection consists of four essential brushes for face makeup application.
These somewhat remind me of Jeffree Star's makeup brush collection in his collaboration with Morphe; the hot pink handle is so cute and pretty, and the white bristles definitely gave these a chic, classy look. Who would ever think that the most expensive brush in this collection is below P200 only?
Let's take a look at all the brushes in this collection:
The Powder Brush (P195) is a medium- sized brush with a dome shape and slightly fanned- out design to cover bigger areas during application and to help impart a more even finish. The width of the brush is quite slim, which makes it ideal for applying powder on tight corners of the face, even the under eyes. The shape and density are great for applying not only translucent powder, but powder foundation as well. If you want a soft focus finish though, it's best to use bigger, fluffier, more rounded powder brushes.
TBJ TIP: Use the flat side for fuller coverage and the tip for sheer coverage
The Blush Brush (P175), I would say, is my favorite from this batch because it has a wide, domed tip for a more natural coverage and slim sides for full coverage. This brush helps me achieve different degrees of powder blush coverage; it's versatile!
The Contour Brush (P175) has a slim tip to create sharp lines, but at the same time, the domed, wide, fluffy tip helps you buff contouring powder seamlessly onto the skin, giving you more natural- looking shadows.
The Highlighter Brush (P175) is the last piece in the collection. This brush has a tapered tip for spot highlighting, but for tighter areas, you will need a smaller brush. I would say that this is great for applying highlighter on the cheekbones and overall complexion highlighting because of the size; I even like using this for setting concealer on my under eyes.
I love that the bristles are vegan and cruelty- free and most of all, affordable; they're soft, not scratchy, and mimic the feel of animal hair bristles and perform like one too. Animal bristles generally perform better than synthetic ones and Vice Cosmetics was able to marry what's great with the former and the sustainable, ethical quality of the latter--this is why I love this collection.
Vice Cosmetics is starting something noble and that is they're trying to make sustainable, kind beauty more accessible to the masses; I hope other local brands will emulate what Vice Cosmetics is doing; they're proof that affordable can be cruelty- free and high quality.
Vice Cosmetics promised that these are sturdy, no shed brushes; the quality is really great and the no shed promise is true because I did the tug test and not a single bristle has come out from the four brushes; I've washed them too and they did not shed. But when it comes to durability, I have yet to use these for a while for me to see if these can withstand daily use. Please remember that products naturally do wear and tear, most especially if you use them everyday.
White bristles are really classy, but I prefer black bristles because anything white tends to look aged quickly. For the look of Vice Cosmetics' brushes, the white bristles went well with the hot pink handle so aesthetics- wise, the white bristles was a good choice.
Overall, these are awesome brushes! They're great for daily use and fairly affordable considering the quality and the fact that they're cruelty- free; I highly recommend these if you're looking for dependable (and chic!) daily makeup brushes that perform well. I wish they would release a set and I'm definitely looking forward to an eye collection!
Have you tried these already? What are your thoughts?

ReplyDeleteGrabe ganda talaga ng brushes! I was waiting for you to review these makeup brush kasi I'm contemplating if worth it ba gumastos 🤣 I bought the power brush 💖 super lambot ng bristles tapos vegan brushes pa 💖
ReplyDeleteNakakatuwa ang Vice Cosmetics, hindi nag papahuli sa mga pasavogue. Hope next there will be eye shadow brushes in a set naman. I agree with the white brushes, at first they look so so pretty but after couple of washes, their color change faster kaya mas prefer ko ung mga dark strands, low maintenance
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think of this post! :)
