THE VERDICT:

Call me Powder Foundation queen, will ya? It's my go- to product since this pandemic happened because it's easy, perfect for my oily skin, and frankly, who needs liquid foundation right now?

Happy to announce that Colorstay, one of my most favorite face base lines for oily skin has released a new and improved version of Colorstay Powder Foundation. I've been using this to run errands and it stays intact and keeps those face chismis covered the whole day!

Ingredients

Revlon Colorstay Powder Foundation promises long- lasting, natural matte, flawless, coverage for up to 16 hours. Locally, there are 6 shades.

The product comes in a round compact before, just like the pressed powder, which is one of my favorites as well for an easy- going, light makeup look. Packaging looks chic and akin to a high end powder foundation product, like Make Up For Ever.

The best shade for me is Natural Tan; I thought it would be Golden Beige, but this matches my skin better. However, it has a neutral undertone; wish it were yellow so it won't look a bit pale against my skin. The powder oxidizes for a little so if you have acidic skin, please choose a shade lighter than your skin tone.

I've read that this is a two way powder foundation, but you know me, I only like using my powders one way for hygiene purposes, but for the sake of this review, I've tried it wet. I prefer using this powder dry because it has good coverage anyway and the formula itself lasts long; you only wet the powder if you need more coverage or you want the powder to last longer on your skin. Also, the sponge has no rubbery odor!

With two layers of the powder foundation

The powder has a matte finish, but has a tendency to look "layered on", if you know what I mean, if you apply two layers or more. I really don't mind this because from afar, it doesn't look cakey anyway. See the next photo.

Here's another angle. Finish is soft matte and coverage is medium to heavy. Powder is fragrance- free too and that is a plus for me; I used to don't mind fragrance in powder, but because of the face mask, I just want little to no fragrance in my makeup that may irritate my skin or nose more.

Staying power is really good! Coverage still looks good even up to 5 hours without retouching; all I have to do is just blot my face to remove oil and sweat. However, it still rubs off on face masks just like any other powder or face base; it's really inevitable!

TBJ TIP: If you want full coverage that looks more natural even up close, apply first layer with a sponge and gradually build coverage with a powder brush.

Overall, this is another great drugstore powder foundation that's below P1,000. Revlon Colorstay Powder Foundation is a good face base that can withstand face mask wear: it will give you all day coverage with minimal product transfer on masks!
