THE VERDICT:

You know why I love stick foundation next to liquid? It is because it is one of the most versatile formats of foundation known to wo(men); it can be a corrector, concealer, and primer on top of being a foundation as its form makes it flexible enough to be applied wherever and on top of everything, it is so darn handy and travel- friendly. So whenever I gather that a brand has a new stick foundation, my radar gets active.

Benefit Cosmetics has just released a new member of the Hello Happy foundation family called Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation, a foundation that promises to stay light and stay put, plus protects you from the sun too!

Ingredients

Hello Happy Air Stick Foundation promises 16- hour wear time while staying comfortable, light, and breathable. Has SPF 20 PA+++ broad spectrum and the silky formula claims to give a natural, matte look. It comes in 12 shades.

Darn, why are my photos incredibly grainy? The sky hasn't been generous with natural light lately and I have no access to good artificial light source at the moment. I hope you can read some of the stuff clearly!

Anyway. The foundation packaging design is minimalist and perfect for the aesthetic taste of this generation, but Benefit never fails to make things their own; that happy face imprinted on the tube and serves as the signature logo for the line is so cute and so Benefit! The tube is made of lightweight metal; it feels sturdy, but very lightweight.

Benefit made the right choice when choosing what shade will fit my skin tone. They sent me shade 5 and based on this swatch, it suits my skin tone. 5 is a medium deep shade with yellow undertone.

Texture is creamy matte and glides smoothly on the skin unlike other stick foundations that drag your skin and feel pasty to the touch when blending, this one is so silky that you can blend and even it with your fingers also, no sweat.

Coverage is medium to full, finish is semi-matte; I'm in awe of how easy to blend this stick foundation is on the skin-no dragging, tugging, no premature wrinkles waiting in the wings. I also like that the finish is like second skin, not like the usual coverage of stick foundation, which is generally 'thick'- looking. 5 is a good match for my skin tone; I like that the shades are yellow- toned too.

Aside from looking 'light', this foundation feels lightweight as well. I would normally wear stick foundation in events when I know that I'll be in an air- conditioned place for the most part of my day because it can really feel heavy on the skin, but this one feels just like a sheer foundation, but with the coverage of a stick foundation.

It promises to stay put for 16 hours; it's long- lasting enough, but I don't think it can really last that long. It takes 5 hours before I blot my skin of sebum and I think that's pretty impressive.

Overall, this is a really good stick foundation; one of the nicest I have tried and will surely repurchase if I run out. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs full coverage, but wants it to feel and look light and natural; plus points that it has SPF too!
