THE VERDICT:
Detail Makeover has recently rebranded to Detail Cosmetics; gone are their days of, frankly, slightly outdated branding and packaging designs. Detail has taken great strides in improving their brand identity and look, and this makes me happy as a marketing person!
Today, Detail Cosmetics is minimalist yet artfully expressive, which resonates with a generation of makeup lovers who are finding products that strike the balance between the ordinary and the extraordinary; starting with this really cool collection called Powder Pout lipsticks.
What's more with this range is it's made in collaboration with some of the top vloggers in the Philippines. To date, this is one of the biggest makeup collaborations between brand and influencer locally!

Detail Cosmetics Powder Pout Lipstick is a 12-shade range matte lipstick in a buttery formula and suede finish. The products can be bought individually or as a set that comes with a free acrylic lipstick case. Sweet! I'd buy the lipstick vault for the acrylic case alone!
Whether you're from Gen X, Y, or Z, you'll find a vlogger lippie shade that you can relate with in this collection. These are the vloggers whom Detail Makeover has collaborated with for Powder Pout.
First, the packaging, The box is beautifully designed; I love the vector renders of each vlogger just because I love vector art in general lelz; the well thought- out, personalized packaging made each product a great and affordable collectible for the fans of these vloggers.
The bullet is gorgeous too! Each bullet bears the signature of the vloggers, which made them feel even more personalized.

Here are the swatches.
The lippies have a buttery soft formula and suede matte finish. It's VERY pigmented; one swipe and I get full coverage. It has a tendency to feel a bit heavy though so I don't apply more than two layers. Also, the formula reminds me of
Sunnies Face Fluff Matte Lipstick, but this one feels a bit more moisturizing and creamier.
On another note, I love the scent of the lipsticks; smells like popcorn!
When I first saw the digital render of the swatches, I initially thought that the shades are generally cool- toned and may put off morena customers like me from the get go, but as always, it's better to check the actual swatches. More about the shades later.

The shades are all beautiful individually, but as a vault, you have 12 lipsticks in almost the same color and tone; I love the lipstick vault concept, but I wish there are other shades such as pinks, reds, berries, or wines. I don't know if this is intended to be a rose/nude collection though.
As for the staying power, they stay put for quite a while, but needs to be retouched during wear and after a meal. I tried using this product as a cheek tint and lid wash; it works, but it's quite hard to blend so make sure to apply it gradually, blend well, and just layer it on if you need more color so you won't have a hard time evening the shade out on your skin.
Overall, I like Powder Pout because the formula is beautiful and the scent is divine; it's good quality lipstick and looks chic for P199 only. My recommended shades from this collection are Rei Germar, Lou Sanchez, Angel Dei, and Toni Sia.
P.S. Now that I mentioned that this is a good dupe for Sunnies Face Fluff Matte, here are the Powder Pout lipstick shades that I think can be dupes for the following Fluffmatte shades:

ReplyDeleteSame thought Ms. Martha. Would have been better kung malawak yung color range para sulit sa isang set, but the shades are really good though. Sana may next batch and included ka din or might as well ibang brand or your own brand na lang din. Who knows!!!
