20-Minute Dinners: Aling Margherita Pizza

The month's been really hectic! Actually, it's been hectic since August because I was busy preparing for TBJ 11th Mega Anniversary and then clients started coming in. I literally haven't been getting proper sleep for the last three months now! Ack! All I want for Christmas is long, undisturbed sleep lol.

Who has time for food when you're busy? But admit it or not, you want to reward yourself with something filling and delicious. However, these may take time to prepare.

This is why I have thought of making 20- minute dinners based on readily available products in the pantry and fridge, and exploring more of ready-to-eat and prepare food in the supermarket and turning them into something special.

Today, I'll share with you my 20- minute Aling Margherita pizza.

I called this Aling Margherita because I wanted a new way to call my homemade Margherita pizza; Aling is such a local, familial, distinctly Pinoy term and to call this Aling Margherita is simply me saying that it's homemade, Pinoy in taste, and delish. I also love Margherita pizza!

The ingredients for my 20-minute Aling Margherita pizza is very simple:

Pre-made pizza crust

Tomato sauce

Mozzarella or gouda cheese

Tomatoes, cut into rings, seeds and juices removed

Fresh Arugula

STEP 1: Prepare the baking pan and by pre-heating the oven to 350 degrees farenheit. 

Apply tomato sauce using a spoon and spread; Not too much because it will be too sour since they're pure tomatoes.

You can also mix the tomato sauce according to your liking; add sugar if you want to neutralize sourness.

STE 2: Go berserk with your cheese. Sprinkle all over.

STEP 3: Place the tomato rings all over. I love tomatoes that's why I went overboard. :)

Next, cook for at least 15 minutes or when the cheese has melted. Cover with aluminum foil for even heat distribution and to prevent burning.

STEP 4: When pizza is finally cooked, add fresh Arugula on top then serve.

The pizza can serve 3 people and if you're alone, then congratulations, you still have meals for another day.
