THE VERDICT:
Fall/Winter is definitely my most favorite makeup season because I just love deep, jewel tones in makeup; I like how they're sultry yet classy and generally, I just think I look better in these tones.
I've found two new cool products from Wet N Wild that I think will be my staple for this holiday season: Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in Comfort Zone and Bronzer in Sunset Striptease. They're affordable, pigmented, and generally have great quality considering the price!
Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in Comfort Zone is a 10-pan eyeshadow palette with matte, matte with shimmer, satin, and metallic finishes. I love the transition colors and the fact that they're labeled; it makes everyone, including eyeshadow newbies, more confident in trying out this palette and experimenting with the colors.
These are the swatches of the eyeshadows.
L-R: Cool green (metallic), Cream (matter with shimmer), Bronze (metallic), Pale gold (matte with shimmer), Duochrome deep turquoise (metallic), Gold Peach (satin), Black (matte with shimmer), Chocolate Brown (satin), Dirty Rose (matte), Dirty Peach (matte)
The eyeshadows have a very smooth consistency, pigmented, and have little fallout. I've always thought that Wet N Wild's Color Icon eyeshadow palettes are very good; when I was starting with beauty blogging, this is one of my favorite budget eyeshadow palettes and 'til this day, I still think they're good and a great choice for beauties on a budget.
Sunset Striptease is a medium brown shade with pale gold shimmer. I like my bronzers matte though, but on the bright side, the shimmers on this one aren't too obvious. Texture is smooth and silky, and pigmentation is light to medium.
Here's moi wearing the shades from the Color Icon Comfort Zone eyeshadow palette. The colors are gorgeous!
Color Icon's eyeshadows are smooth, buildable, and easy to blend; they have good adherence to the skin, but you will still need to wear them on top of a primer so they will last longer.
As for the bronzer, I'm pleased to report that it doesn't appear shimmery despite the gold shimmer; it looks matte overall and has pretty good staying power as well. The thing though is it has a slight orange tone to it so I make sure to apply it sparingly and with a fluffy brush to soften the color.
If you're looking for an awesome eyeshadow palette that won't hurt your wallet, I highly recommend Wet N Wild's Color Icon eyeshadow palettes. They're really worth purchasing!
