The phrase "Kilay is lifer" has never been truer in my life since face masks became a mandatory everyday accessory. Last year, I've been relying on just brow products for the better part of the year to give my face a semblance of prim and proper when in fact, I could only count the times I dressed up, put on makeup, and gave myself a nice, long bath last year LOL.

I digress. So this is why brow products still remain as my undisputed beauty essential; it's easy, quick to use, and instantly lifts my face especially in this time when we could all barely pull everything together because all of a sudden, our lives have changed as we know it and we're called to adjust immediately.

When I come across a good brow product, rest assured, I'll be sharing it with you right away and we have one right now from one of the brow beauty authorities, Benefit Cosmetics. Introducing Benefit Cosmetics Brow Microfilling Pen, an easy, fool- proof way to achieve a microbladed look that lasts the whole day.

Ingredients

Benefit Microfilling Brow Pen is the newest brow product to hit town. This eyebrow pen promises to help you achieve hair- like strokes, as if you've had a microblading sesh. Currently, the product comes in 4 shades.

This is Benefit's contribution to the Microblading effect trend that's popular nowadays in the makeup industry. Benefit's a little late in the game, but this product proves that sometimes, you need to take your time to make good stuff because by far, this has the nicest formula among all the microblading eyebrow pens I have tried. More on that later. First, the packaging: nothing fancy; it's an easy to grip pen that comes with the signature fork applicator that you will find in most microblading brow pens, but the difference is this is softer and more flexible compared to the other ones I have tried, which are more solid.

L-R: 3.5 Medium Brown and 3 Light Brown

Medium Brown is a warm chocolate shade and Light brown is a walnut shade. Both have neutral undertone so it works for any skin tone. You are seeing here to finishes that you can get from the applicator since it's flexible: hold it lightly and you'll be able to get wispy, hair- like strokes and press it down for a little bit to get thicker coverage, which works in filling up gaps. I really like the applicator on this one because of the flexibility and the fact that it allows me to achieve varying color payoffs.

Consistency of the product is a sheer liquid; it's so weightless, you barely even feel it's on your skin and it sets pretty quickly.

Another good thing about the formula is it's newbie- friendly; it's nearly impossible to get block brows with this product, unless you have ridiculously heavy hands and you layer it on for more than 10 times (who does that!?).

Here's my bare brow. I broke out for a little after having my brow waxed after ONE FRIKKIN' YEAR; my skin had to re-adjust to the procedure, but I didn't experience anything serious after the initial reaction; the irritation went away on its own after two days.

Medium Brown suits me more and it goes with my current hair color just fine. I like how natural- looking the finish is and indeed, it gives you that instant microbladed brows effect; I've seen microbladed brows in actual and the beauty of it is the natural, almost hair- like finish of the tints; Benefit has tried to achieve that effect and finish in the formula of this product and I'd say they have succeeded!

Regarding staying power, this one stays on like a pro. I've accidentally wiped my brows, drenched it in sweat and oil, wore it to exercise, and subjected it to the heat outdoors and in all those times, this product held up, which makes me say that this is perfect for those with oily skin!

I'm pleased with Benefit's new product and I'm looking forward to buying this again because I like how easy and user- friendly it is plus the staying power is commendable; definitely handy for me especially since I always get sweaty and oily all over my face because of face mask usage. This is great for you if you want a foolproof brow product that will last the whole day, give you that naturally- full microbladed brows look, and will look good even if you only have 5 minutes to do your brows!
