Skin Care Trends of 2021
For so long, makeup has always been the preference of many, but because of K-Beauty skin care and routines and the onset of the pandemic, the rise of skin care was accelerated and became the leading beauty category in 2020.

This 2021, skin care will continue to dominate because of the lingering effects of the pandemic and the fact that 2020 is the year our beauty habits have truly changed. Here are five of the leading skin care trends that will rule this 2021.

1. MASKNE PRODUCTS

- Maskne is definitely the leading skin care problem of 2020. This year, consumers will demand for products that will help minimize or fight maskne completely. Brands will start to come out with mask- friendly skin care, one that has good staying power to minimize mask transfer, has oxygenation technology to provide ventilation and a healthy supply of air within the mask, and powerful concoctions of anti-acne ingredients featuring zinc, retinol, tea tree oil, salicylic acid, and AHAs and BHAs.

2. BLUE LIGHT TECHNOLOGY IN SKIN CARE

- Social distancing is still enforced in all parts of the globe and this means a lot of our daily, professional  and leisure activities have to be done online, preferably. Prolonged, constant usage of gadgets means increased exposure to blue light, a type of UV light that can cause skin care damage in the long run. Skin care infused with blue light- blocking ingredients will be preferred in the coming months.

3. MINIMALIST SKIN CARE

- The trend of minimalist skin care started early last year and it will continue this year; more and more people will start paring down their skin care routines and the products they use; more will prefer multi-tasking products or well- thought out skin care regimens that only contain what's needed to make way for more productivity at home.

4. ADVANCED SKIN CARE DEVICES

- Since a lot of salons are still non-operational and a lot of people are still wary of services that require close contact, there will be a demand for at home, advanced skin care devices that mimic their favorite and usual dermatological and non-invasive facial procedures.

5. AFFORDABLE SKIN CARE SETS

- The pandemic has also brought upon a financial crisis on a personal and economical level, which paved the demand for affordable skin care sets; a skin care set features full- sized products from a specific skin care range in smaller sizes. It's basically offering the entire skin care system at a more affordable cost.

  4. Yes I agree, it is difficult to go to a salon especially a pandemic. We should learn more to take care of ourselves. Now that we are facing the pandemic, people have become more frugal in beauty, we prefer to use skincare products and devices than to go to the salon. My pandemic skincare is proper hygiene, washing before going to bed and waking up, eating nutritious vegetables and fruits, and of course the ice cube really makes my skin beautiful and my pores on my face shrink. Take note you will not spend much, just be diligent in taking care of ourselves.
