THE VERDICT:

Bretman Rock is one of the reasons why I'm proud to be a Filipino because he is a Filipino and proud of his roots as he showcases all the cool things about the Filipino culture in his videos.

So I got really excited when I learned that he released a makeup line with Wet N Wild and even more so when I learned that it is available in the Philippines!

Wet N Wild Philippines was gracious enough to partner with me for a review on Wet N Wild X Bretman Rock Jungle Rock Collection; it's really good colorful makeup for an extraordinary everyday look!

Jungle Rock is a 5- piece makeup collection that's personally conceptualized and curated by Youtube star, Bretman Rock. A nod to his colorful personality, Jungle Rock is a loud and proud collection that will add a bit of wild to your everyday makeup looks.

The collection features an eyeshadow palette, highlighter brush, duo loose highlighter, 3-in-1 face mist, and high shine lip gloss.

Wet N Wild X Bretman Rock Jungle Rock eyeshadow palette (P2,499 and P1,299) features 15 shades in earthy tones splashed with tropical shades. The palette consists of metallic and matte shades.

I love the palette; it's so vibrant, cool, and fun to look at. 

There are two prices for the palette because there's a regular palette and one signed by Bretman Rock; the latter is the most expensive between the two, but the products are exactly the same. If you're a fan of Bretman, then get the one with his signature because it is limited edition and will be gone once they pull it out of the shelves.

Wet N Wild X Bretman Rock Jungle Rock Face Highlighting Brush (P999) is a synthetic brush with a slight fan shape to deliver sheer to heavy deposit of color.

I like this because the shape is just right for my cheek bones; it hits those areas right on the spot. It can be used on the eyes as well, but only for applying an accent color because it's too huge and flexible for blending. I've washed the brush and I'm please to report that there's no fallout. A little pricey for a highlighter brush though.

Wet N Wild X Bretman Rock Jungle Rock 2-in-1 Loose Highlighter (P1,199) offers a customizable highlight featuring two shades that deliver a natural and dramatic glow.

I love the packaging; Bretman's initial add a personalized touch and the door type cover for the jar; I really hate those sticker stoppers LOL.

Goddess is a gold champagne shade; it is soft, shimmer highlighter that imparts a natural glow to the skin. Meanwhile, Bronze is a bronze-hot pink glitter highlighter that imparts a warm, noticeable dark pink highlight to the skin-definitely more avant garde than the former and great to use as eyeshadow as well.

Apeshit- matte reddish brown

Pounce on 'Em- matte red orange

Flaminghoe- matte hot pink with violet undertone

Venomous- matte tropical green

Anaconduhh- matte sea foam green

King of the Jungle- metallic yellow gold

Don't Be Lion- metallic beige champagne

Liar and Cheetah- metallic copper

Prowl- metallic light gold

Connoisseur- matte cameo white

Alpha- matte black

Tou-can Play That Game- matte pinkish red

Feline Myself- matte violet

Big Peacock Energy- metallic deep peacock green

Deeper- metallic royal blue

The eyeshadows are surprisingly pigmented. Well, Wet N Wild eyeshadows have good pigmentation to begin with, but I didn't expect such true-to-pan color payoff especially from the colorful eyeshadows. Rainbow- colored eyeshadows can be pretty expensive individually and for WNW to produce such colors that are at par with expensive brands is quite a feat and worth a recommendation. The price of this eyeshadow palette is just 1 or 2 single eyeshadows from a more expensive makeup brand.

Now let me just go over the remaining two products in the collection:

WET N WILD JUNGLE ROCK 2-IN-1 FACE MIST (P959)- is a fixing and setting spray. It has Coconut, Papaya, Dragon Plum, and Kakadu plant extracts plus Vitamins C and E for antioxidant benefits.

This spray smells really good! It has a juicy coconut scent and it makes me smell delicious and gives me major summer vibes. It has micro shimmer that provides a nice layer of natural glow to the skin. It works as a nice hydrating base to prep your skin for makeup. Not really sure if it contributes to my makeup's staying power so I can't call it a setting spray, but as a fixing spray, it works: it instantly adds a nice layer of sheen on the skin to take away the powdery look of makeup.

WET N WILD JUNGLE ROCK LIP GLOSS IN FREAKY (P649)- the only lip product in the collection. Freaky is a high shine gloss that has pearlescent blue and pink shimmer. There are other shades, but I'm not sure if they were made available here. Bretman Rock is a fan of lip gloss that's why he decided to add it in the collection, but I personally prefer lipstick.

The lip gloss is not that sticky and surprisingly, goes well with the eyeshadows. It doesn't look like clear gloss at all because the pearlescent blue and pink shimmer add a pinkish glow to the lips.

I've used the gorgeous colors of the eyeshadow in the Jungle Rock Eyeshadow Palette. Look at how vibrant the blue shade is!

The eyeshadows are quite easy to blend; the matte shades yield fallout so it's best to do your eyes first before your base so you can clean up easily.

I've sprayed on the face mist in here as well and look at that nice glow on my skin. :)

Here's me wearing the 2-in-1 loose highlighter. I'm using Goddess, which gives a healthy- looking sheen. It looks fairly natural and it's buildable. Staying power is good on oily skin.

Overall, I like this collection! It's bright, colorful, and even if it's like that, the pieces can be used and injected in everyday makeup looks as well. I highly recommend the eyeshadow palette because it's not everyday that you see an affordable palette of very good, colorful eyeshadows; I also recommend the face mist because it's an instant pick-me-up spray to refresh your makeup look and makes you look instantly healthy and glowing.
