THE VERDICT:

Do you have dry skin? And are you using emollient skin care that you wish were lighter, much more refreshing on the skin, and more apt for our hot climate?

I've got a suggestion for you and it's Pixi Hydrating Milky skin care range, a lightweight, hydrating skin care range that's ideal for dry skin-it's so lightweight and refreshing that even combination oily-normal skin types like me can use it! I'm using it at the moment and my skin's looking and feeling amazingly supple and youthful!

Pixi Milky Hydrating skin care is great for dry, normal, and combination oil-normal skin types; it utilizes some of the most potent hydrating ingredients in skin care namely Coconut, Shea Butter, Oat, Probiotics, Jojoba, and Cocoa Bean extracts to keep skin supple, young, hydrated, and firm. The range is comprised of a makeup remover, exfoliator, facial cleanser, toner, serum, face and body moisturizer, facial mist, and recently a face mask.

Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover (P1905, sephora.ph) is a hydrating makeup remover with Coconut extracts that help hydrate the skin and Probiotics that help maintain moisture balance and protect the skin at the same time. Other additional ingredients include Cinnamon Bark extract that help fight inflammation and Willow Bark extract that tones and conditions skin.

This makeup remover has a mild Coconut scent and a food- like odor that I believe is naturally- occurring due to the Probiotic ingredients-I always get this odor in all skin care with probiotics as ingredients.

It's a bi- phase makeup remover: majority is milky liquid and partly oil. It's great at removing light to semi- heavy makeup, but you'll need a lot for it to remove waterproof powder/primer/foundation. It leaves a hydrating, semi- oily film that protects and maintains moisture on the skin as it removes makeup and it rinses off easily and quickly; I like that this makeup remover does not leave my skin dry and I can use it to remove waterproof eyeliner without stinging my eyes.

Hydrating Milky Peel (P1905, sephora.ph) is an exfoliating cream that uses natural cellulose, which is a fiber component that is normally found in plant ingredients; what's nice about this is it makes use of natural exfoliators, making it environment- friendly. Since cellulose is a mild exfoliator and this cream does not contain abrasive exfoliators, it's good to use even by those with sensitive skin types.

The way this exfoliating cream works is it's like Cure: apply on your skin, rub gently, and wait for the cream to coagulate, which signals that it's removing dirt and dead skin cells from your skin, plus also the natural cellulose ingredients that get mixed in the process.

This exfoliator is concentrated and a little goes a long way; I like the milky floral fragrance and the fact that it's very gentle yet effective: no dryness, taut feeling, and redness after usage, but I get the same effect as using a harsher exfoliator.

Hydrating Milky Cleanser (P1905, sephora.ph) is a rich, hydrating low foam cleanser with a Jasmine- like floral scent. It's rich and yields a moisturizing, whipped foam that isn't too drying on the skin; of course I still have to moisturize my skin right after cleansing.

Hydrating Milky Tonic (P1,115, sephora.ph) is a hydrating, alcohol- free toner. This hydrating toner is also a great mist alternative and has the same scent as the makeup remover. I love using this before makeup because it preps my skin effectively in absorbing moisturizer, which in turn helps my makeup look and stay fresh- looking longer.

Hydrating Milky Serum (P1,810, sephora.ph) is a revitalizing serum that helps firm, hydrate, and plump the skin with Rose flower extract, Jojoba oil extract, Aloe Vera, and Glycerin; formula traps moisture for a plumping effect.

This fragrant serum has a lovely rose flower scent and superbly hydrating and soothing; since it has good hydrating properties, I sometimes don't need to use moisturizer to seal it. I have slightly oily skin so I can get away with it, but if you have dry skin, you will need to set it with moisturizer.

Hydrating Milky Lotion (P1,905, sephora.ph) is a multitasking face and body moisturizer enriched with  Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter to moisturize and hydrate skin for longer.

This is a light, bouncy cream; a little goes a long way and needs to be buffed onto the skin to be absorbed easily. It has a milky floral fragrance with a hint of rose. I love how light this feels on the skin despite being superbly moisturizing and hydrating. I initially thoughts I would break out from this because I tend to break out from anything with a high concentration of Shea Butter, but thankfully I didn't; this must have moderate to low Shea Butter concentration in the ingredients.

My skin after one month of usage

I've used this skin care line consistently for a month until I changed to my current skin care, which is Commonlabs Vitamin C Skin Care. I took this photo on the 30th day of consistently using this skin care line and look how plump, supple, hydrated, and youthful- looking my skin is! Hydration is indeed the key to good, young- looking skin.

Aside from the effective hydrating properties, I love how lightweight the formulas are of all the products in this entire collection. I feel that my skin has aged for a bit, therefore I would need more emollient hydrating and moisturizing skin care every now and then, but I really dislike how goopy and heavy most products are on the skin. Thankfully, there's Pixi Hydrating Milky range that's formulated for a weather like ours. I highly recommend this if you have dry skin or if you are like me who believes in the power of hydration and wants a naturally- effective hydrating skin care!
