THE VERDICT:

Over dinner last night, my husband and I were watching travel vlogs and guides. It's one of our favorite things to do because it keeps us hopeful in a time like this. Traveling is one of our shared passions and this is one of the things that pushes us to do better each year. 

When the gates of the world finally reopen and when we have finally triumphed over this pandemic, one of the countries that we would like to visit is South Korea and of course, the famed Jeju Island. I've seen beautiful pictures and read nothing but good stories about one of SoKor's most enchanted treasures and one of UNESCO's world heritage sites.

But until then. For now, I will be daydreaming of Jeju Island and experience it vicariously through the colors of Innisfree's new spring-summer makeup collection, Jeju Color Picker. Sharing my thoughts on the entire collection below, plus their new glowing base, Skin Fit Glow Cushion.

Jeju Color Picker Collection is a small but sweet makeup collection inspired by Jeju Island in Spring; the main flower motif is the Camellia Flower, which grows in abundance in the island. There is a place called Camellia Hill in Jeju Island and it's considered one of the biggest Camellia gardens in the East. Jeju Color Picker collection is a colorful memory of one of nature's great masterpieces on this side of South Korea encapsulated in beautiful textures, timeless colors, and chic packaging.

Skin Fit Glow Cushion is the new spring-summer offering of Innisfree for your skin. It promises to give a dewy, radiant look with its lightweight yet pigmented finish, and protection from the sun with SPF 34 PA++.

Innisfree Jeju Color Picker Eyeshadow Palette (P1,550) features 9 earth and floral- toned shades in metallic, shimmer, and matte finish. The eyeshadows have a smooth, buttery consistency, especially for the metallics and mattes; the shimmer shadows yield a soft, shimmery finish; coverage is a bit more scattered. Some might think that this is bad pigmentation or poor quality, but do note that Koreans have a certain preference for shimmer eyeshadows and shimmer finish and it's soft and more on the glowing side than intensely sparkly.

Innisfree Jeju Color Picker Blooming Blusher (P990) is a beautifully- designed blush; look at that Camellia flower motif! This matte blush comes in two shades: Red Camellia 1 and Pink Camellia 2. 1 is great for warm to dark skin tones and 2 is great for fair to medium skin tones. I have shade 1. Pigmentation is light to medium, which is surprising for a stark- looking shade; it's a good surprise though because it means the shade is wearable so don't fret!

Innisfree Jeju Color Picker Camellia Petal Tint (P690) is a buildable matte lip tint. Finish is a soft, blurry matte; I love the finish actually! Reminds me of K-Beauty lip trends and looks. It comes in two shades: No.1 Camellia Red and No.3 Camellia Beige. It's more of a lipstick than a lip tint, but the buildable quality makes it good enough as a tint.

Innisfree Jeju Color Picker Camellia Relief Lip Oil (P690) is a lip treatment with 100% Jeju Camellia Oil; this highly moisturizing lip treatment also has a light reddish tint, which makes it a great multitasking skin care-makeup product.

Innisfree Skin Fit Glow Cushion (P1,300.00) is a cushion compact that comes with a dew drop- shaped sponge that enables you to reach tight areas and corners of the face. Love the color of the compact too! Not quite sure how many shades are available locally for this specific product, but I am currently using N21, which is good for warm medium to morena skin tones.

Skin Fit Glow Cushion in N21 is a medium warm beige with a neutral undertone. Finish is semi- matte, but dewy and has light to medium pigmentation. I like that it manages to stay lightweight and look very natural on the skin all while providing good coverage; I don't have to use a separate corrector to cover my facial marks when I'm using this one.

Wearing Camellia Relief Lip Oil in this photo. I must say, this is one of my most favorite products in the collection! It provides deep, long- lasting hydration, the kind that lasts for days and leaves my lips smooth, soft, and flake- free. I also like that it has a hint of tint so whenever I use it on Zoom meetings, I get the color coverage I need plus treatment! Smells good too!

The eyeshadows are easy and pleasant to use overall, but needs to a primer to last long.I like the fact that even if you use one or all of the shades in one go, your eyes will still look primped and great because the color story is good.

Skin Fit Glow Cushion has good coverage and I like that it looks natural on my skin, but has good staying power; it kinda' transfers to masks so make sure to set it with a good powder and makeup setting spray. It feels really lightweight on the skin so if ever I have to wear face makeup, I will go for this.

Petal Tint has a great floral fragrance and has a mild cooling effect; I like anything cooling, most especially when it's summertime. The tints spread smoothly, sets efficiently, and I like that it doesn't dry my lips at all. However, it is not waterproof so best to use during zoom meetings at home.

Blooming Blusher in Camella Red 1 has a soft matte finish and fine texture; I like that it doesn't look as if it's sitting on top of my skin. It also has good staying power.

Overall, Jeju Color Picker Collection and Skin Fit Glow Cushion are a great summer makeup find: the colors are pretty and trendy but timeless, and formula and textures are light and perfect for the weather. Most of all, I love how it reminds me of traveling in general and keeps me hanging onto hope that one day, we will all be able to live freely again.
