THE VERDICT:

I am a huge user of makeup setting spray way back in college, when I was doing theatre. It's actually a staple in a lot of makeup kits of professional actors because this is actually a professional makeup creation until brands decided to offer and market it to everyday consumers. I'm a testament to how makeup setting sprays can help makeup last longer-it's one of my favorite professional makeup products and hacks to prolong makeup wear and I'm happy that a lot has finally discovered the wonders of makeup setting spray!

Needless to say, I am into makeup sprays once again lately and I'm keen to try and discover good makeup setting sprays out there, whether old or new. My favorite lately is So Naturals, a Korean brand, and a new favorite of mine is Benefit Cosmetics The Porefessional Super Setter Makeup Setting Spray; it literally helps minimize makeup transfer on face masks for that less icky, dirty feeling. Benefit The Porefessional Super Setter Makeup Setting Spray promises to lock in makeup for 16 hours. It has a unique atomizer that produces a microfine mist for no- mess success. The spray contains micro powders that have a pore- blurring, light- scattering property for makeup that looks flawless and lasts.

This newest addition to Benefit's best- selling product now turned into a complexion line, THE POREFESSIONAL, has the signature powdery floral fragrance from the OG pore- blurring primer. But this one is not overly fragrant so it's perfect for those who like or dislike fragrance in their makeup products.

The atomizer indeed produces a fine, wide mist; it doesn't drench your face with the setting spray and optimizes your application every time; my problem though with fine mists is I don't know if I am applying enough because you barely feel the product touching your face, but that's just me-I have to work on my trust issues LOL.

Ingredients

The bottle has a smaller cap and a bigger cap to protect the atomizer.

I use the product right after I do my makeup and concentrate spraying on the areas that my face mask will touch: the tip of my nose cheeks, and jawline near the chin area. I get crazy makeup transfers from those areas EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Now let's put this to the test.

Me at Greenbelt around last week. I have only put my mask on when I have alighted the car. I stepped out for an hour to pick up groceries and food.

So here's me after wearing the mask for a full hour and without removal. HOLY MOLY. The only makeup transfer I got was that speck of foundation on the upper central curve of the mask, the part that sits on the bridge of my nose. AMAZING!

But please take note that I wore this for just one hour and I was in an air-conditioned area the whole time; I don't know yet if this will still have the same makeup transfer control in a warmer setting and with longer mask usage. But with other makeup setting sprays used in the same setting, I would still get significant makeup transfers on my face mask so by my standards, Benefit The Porefessional Super Setter's makeup setting powers are awesome! Also, no break outs! Not really sure how the pore- blurring benefit works because I didn't really try to observe that-I'm after the makeup setting benefits. I mean, no one would really mind if your makeup is smooth or not because we're all hiding behind masks anyway. :D

If you're thinking of buying this setting spray, I suggest go for it because as you've seen, it works. This is best for quick trips outside and if you have moderately oily and dry skin (because the spray doesn't make my skin feel tight, therefore I think this is ideal for dry skin).
