THE VERDICT:

We ran into a lot of problems due to a shady client in the last few months in my other business; to say that it was stressful is an understatement; it's breakdown- inducing. I can't believe that there are people who will still take advantage of others even in hard times. Sometimes, you just don't want to believe in humanity anymore.

All this stress perhaps have gravitated me towards this cleanser in my stash called Kate Somerville Delikate Soothing Cleanser; it's one of the new product discoveries that I got from Sephora last month. 

Good thing I've tried it because I never knew that this was what my dull, stressed, depleted skin needed!

 

Just like you, I have the same question in my head. Who is Kate Somerville?

Kate Somerville is a Hollywood- based esthetician who's known and loved both by celebrities and everyday clients for her skin- perfecting facials. Kate's journey to becoming a skin care expert and entrepreneur was born out of a hard childhood where she developed eczema due to extreme stress brought about by family problems and the separation of her parents. As a young adult, Kate has experienced more hardships after leaving home including working many jobs to put herself to college and sleeping on friends' couches just to get by each day. One fateful day, she met Barbara, a mentor who saw the potential in her and have decided to support her dreams and vision. Kate went to esthetician school and it's where her talent for skin care and treatments eventually came to light. Kate had the idea of using active ingredients to help patients heal quickly after surgery; she eventually opened a clinic in one of the top cosmetic surgery offices in the country and it wasn't long before her formulas and techniques were discovered by Hollywood celebrities; this led to Kate setting up her very own location in Hollywood. Soon enough, celebrities and skin care lovers started lining up on her door to experience her renowned facials and treatments. 

Kate's venture into the world of retail skin care began when a celebrity client asked her to bottle up one of her super facials so that she can bring it with her to a shoot; this gave birth to EXFOLIKATE INTENSIVE, her pilot skin care product and the rest is history. Today, Kate Somerville is a mid-luxury skin care brand envisioned and formulated by Kate herself, and has quite a following already, particularly those who want luxurious, high- performance, esthetician- backed skin care.

Ingredients

Kate Delikate Soothing Cleanser is a cream cleanser formulated to soothe and heal redness and protect the skin barrier. Kate Somerville said that she uses this cleanser formula when skin is in a really stressed state, like after coming from a peel. The high concentration of Ceramides that are good in rebuilding your cell barrier and keep it healthy.

The cream is rich and spreadable; it is unscented and has this odor that smells like the base of a lotion or cream-it's not bad though, just not fragrant.

It's non-foaming and feels like lotion; it can remove dirt, but I don't think it's enough to remove makeup because it's non-foaming.

What I love about this cleanser is it's richly moisturizing and leaves my skin clean, but very moisturized; that said, it's good for dry skin types. Despite the very moisturizing feel, it doesn't make my skin oily and greasy.

I've been using it for two weeks now and I've noticed that my skin looks healthier and feels much stronger; it's also much more resilient now because I'm getting less breakouts. It's like all those months of stress on my skin and face went away after just two weeks!

Kate Somerville Delikate Soothing Cleanser is great to use if you want to restore your skin's glow, health, and strength; great for all skin types and as a cold weather cleanser because it envelops your skin in a veil of silky moisture! Definitely one of the nicest and skin- caring non-foaming facial cleansers I have tried; good thing I've decided to discover new brands and stuff at Sephora Philippines!
