THE VERDICT:

I have been joining lots of outdoor initiatives lately. I didn't travel this summer and decided to donate my money to civic causes and part of participating in civic causes is doing walks around the city and barangays that's why sunscreen has been my best friend for the last two months. The sunscreen brand that I've been trying out lately is Sunplay. I can truly say that this sunscreen range is perfect for active, outdoorsy people!

Sunplay is an SPF brand under Mentholatum, the same makers of the lovely Lipice lip balms, one of my favorite affordable lip balms.

Sunplay has been around, but I only got to try it recently. Here are the different Sunplay SPF variants that I have tried:

Sunplay SPF 60 Kids UV Mist (P625)- gentle outdoor sunscreen made especially for kids; great for sensitive skin, has pH level 5.5, has SOLAREX-3, a 3-in-1 defense system that protects skin from UV rays, skin aging, and dryness caused by UV rays

Sunplay SPF 130 (P179.70)- light, non- greasy SPF, has SOLAREX-3 technology, fragrance and colorant- free.

Sunplay SPF 120 Sport (P579.00)- has broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, quick drying, and has SOLAREX-3 technology.

Sunplay SPF 50 UV Watery Essence (P465.00)- with Hyaluronic, Sunflower Oil, and Rosemary Leaf extract to hydrate and moisturize skin.

Sunplay UV Watery Gel (P465.00)- hydrating, watery gel formula with Hyaluronic Acid and 9 moisturizing ingredients to keep skin hydrated and moisturized.

The spray SPFs basically have the same consistency: light, sheer, and gets absorbed easily. The Sport variant is the fastest to set though because it's built for outdoor/sport usage, therefore this is the one that I love using when doing walks. Sunplay Kids and SPF 130 have a light, slightly more moisturizing texture than the sport variant, but they don't feel heavy and clogging at all. Btw, Sport has a lovely cooling effect too! So perfect under the summer heat!

I categorize these as beach SPF products because of the very high SPF content, but surprisingly, unlike others that feel heavy on the skin, Sunplay's formula feels very light and tolerable even under the hot metropolitan sun.

L-R: Sunplay UV Water Gel and UV Watery Essence

Both products have a very light, easy- absorbing formula, but Sunplay UV Watery Gel has a slightly more moisturizing consistency than UV Watery Essence, plus I believe that the former can be used for the face and body. If you have oily skin, go for UV Watery Essence. Dry skin? Go for UV Water Gel.

I'm pleased to know that Sunplay is a pretty good sunscreen brand-that means more options for me! :D What I love about Sunplay's spray sunscreens is it's mess- free, fast- absorbing, lightweight, and perfect to be used in the beach or city. And if you like Biore's formula and looking for an alternative, then check out Sunplay's facial SPF; UV Watery Essence is my favorite!

Have you tried Sunplay's products already? What are your thoughts?
