If I will pursue a product line under The Beauty Junkee, I think it would either be an eyebrow product or a perfume. Again, if I were to restart my blog, I think I'd blog purely about perfumes because I love perfumes so much ever since I was a kid. When I started earning money, perfume was one of the first things that I wanted to collect!
Since we're already on the topic, I just want to share that I was browsing social media one time and I saw a random question asking for perfume recos that will make someone smell like a rich person, but at an affordable price; that's the inspiration for today's blog post.
Ladies (and gents), here are 5 affordable perfumes that will make you smell like a rich person. We might not have tons of cash in the bank, but at least we can smell as if we have it. ;)
- One of the best locally- made perfumes in my opinion. The sisters really have taste for exquisite things. Vern EDP is a well- made, semi- opulent fragrance with notes of white florals, greens and a hint of mint. Incredible staying power too. This perfume gives me the vibe of a young, successful woman with a taste for the finer things in life.
- A lot of rich ladies I know would often sport a minimalist perfume, one that has fewer yet distinct notes or sometimes, just one dominant note; I think for the rich, it's all about making a statement. Perfumes of this kind are Jo Malone, but it's a bit expensive so I'm recommending The Body Shop's EDT range; it's fairly affordable and they have a good range of minimal and single note fragrances that will make you smell like a rich person!
3. ZARA RED TEMPTATION EDP (P1,000+)
- Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Baccarat Rouge 540 is the Chanel No.5 of this generation. It's literally EVERYWHERE and it's the perfume of choice of young, nouveau rich professionals, particularly influencers and vloggers. A bottle will set you back between P15,000-P20,000+. It's a month's worth of salary for a lot of people! But thank goodness for Zara; icydk, Zara is a huge favorite in the world of perfume lovers because the brand has a lot of dupes for famous luxury and niche fragrances, but at an affordable price. If you love or would like to try MFK's BR 540, but would rather not spend that much dough, get Zara Red Temptation EDP, which is dubbed as the dupe for BR 540. Good luck getting your hands on it though; I heard it's a huge best- seller!
- Renato Lopeña is a Filipino, Grasse- trained perfumer. In fact, he's the only Filipino perfumer I know who actually went abroad to study the art of perfumery so this guy really knows his stuff. If I remember it correctly, he's a fragrance consultant and perfumer for a couple of brands, but recently, he put up WREN ATELIER, his very own fragrance range. I've been reading in social media groups that Manila Oud is a wonderful fragrance; Oud is a note that is present in a lot of expensive perfumes, particularly those from the Middle East so if you want to smell like royalty, go for Oud.
Tom Ford's Oud Wood is one of the best- sellering modern Oud fragrances; a lot love it for its smoky, mysterious, sexy, rich appeal, but a bottle will cost you between P15,000-P20,000+ like Baccarat Rouge 540. If you want to try Oud, then check out Lopeña's Manila Oud.
5. WHIFF PERFUMES
- Whiff is a local perfume brand that prides itself on artisanal fragrances. The profile of Whiff's fragrances are very Jo Malone- ish so if you're into JM, try Whiff Perfume; it's more affordable and it's Filipino too!
Hope you liked this list! Which of these perfumes have your tried or would like to try?
