THE VERDICT:

Hola, Beshies! I can't believe TBJ 13th Mega Anniversary is over. It felt like forever when we were organizing it, but the event felt so swift. Definitely missing the event high that we've had last weekend so hopefully, we get to do TBJ 14th Mega Anniversary next year. And hoping that we can finally do it in the flesh!

My makeup brand of the moment is Dior. I've always been intrigued by this brand, but there was really no incentive to try them out before because I felt that their formulas, colors, products, and design were a bit outdated. But Dior's had a total revamp and started targeting the younger generation and then I felt that it's now time to immerse myself in this beauty brand. First on my list is this: Dior Forever Clean Matte Foundation, which is hyped in Tiktok as one of the best matte foundations out there.

But is it really the best? Is it true to its transfer- proof claim? Let's find out.

Ingredients

Dior Forever Clean Matte 24H Transfer-Proof Foundation is a matte foundation with a dewy, medium to heavy coverage. Dior claims that the formula is clean and comprised of an 86% skin care base with iris, wild pansy, peony, rose, and nasturtium to nourish the skin. It promises a natural matte finish and has SPF to protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays. Non-comedogenic. Tested on sensitive skin. 

I purchased this product in Singapore and unfortunately, there aren't a lot of shade options despite the fact that this product has around 40 shades.

Product comes in a sleek frosted glass bottle with a smooth pump. Overall, it feels luxurious.

3N is a warm beige shade with yellow undertone. This is the darkest shade in SG and also in PH. Girls with deeper skin tones won't find a suitable match in this range.

Consistency is slightly creamy  and feels fairly lightweight for a matte coverage foundation.  It has a light floral fragrance that helps mask the odor of sebum on the face.

I don't go beyond two layers because aside from I reckon that it's enough to give me the coverage I need, it has a tendency to make my skin appear sallow. It has good concealing effects because it has significantly minimized the redness and appearance of the giant pimple on my chin.

Notice the yellow tint on my skin? That's what the sallow effect that I'm talking about. I neutralize it easily by using a translucent or shade- matching powder.

The good thing about this foundation is it's one of the true medium coverage foundations out there: it's not too heavy, not too light, covers just right, and lets the natural texture of your skin shine through. That said, if you have very textured skin and you want to get a smoothing effect from foundation, this may not work for you.

How's the staying power? With this foundation on, my face stays oil- free for about 3 hours, tops, but it transfers significantly onto face masks, which is a bit of a bummer because it claims that it's transfer- proof. Huda Beauty's Faux Filter Foundation so far is the most transfer- proof foundation in my opinion. But on the parts of my face that don't have a mask, I find that coverage stays intact for the rest of the day and it feels comfortable to wear under a mask.

Overall, it's a good foundation for the following reasons: 1. It's a true medium foundation 2. It smells nice 3. It feels comfortable to wear under a mask. I just wish that the transfer- proof claim is true, but I guess if they will do that, coverage and finish has to be thicker and heavier, just like the long- lasting heavy foundations of Huda and KVD.

Will I buy it again? Probably not just because it's not transfer- proof. It's nice to have though.
