THE VERDICT:
I was never the biggest fan of stick makeup, except foundation because I find them to be incredibly dry and hard to blend, and if they were moisturizing, they don't last long.
Until this stick came along. It seems to have solved my two issues with stick makeup: longevity and texture.
GRWM Cosmetics new Glam and Go stix is a surprising find, a much- needed disruptor in the local arena of stick makeup: because I never thought that stick makeup can actually be both moisturizing and long- lasting, and that something this good can actually be pretty affordable.
For Act 1 of their summer collection, GRWM Cosmetics released Glam and Go Stix, a collection of stick highlighter, bronzer, contour, and blush. The formula promises to be pigmented, buildable, creamy, and long- lasting, and claims to set into a matte, velvety finish. The blush comes in 7 shades, the contour in 3 shades, the bronzer in five shades, and the highlighter in 3 shades.
Still, I'm not the biggest fan of stick packaging, but for this product, I'll make an exception because I really like the formula; but we'll get to that in a minute.
Now going back to the packaging, the products come in a posh combo of acrylic and metal in hues that match the nature of each product; loved that detail on the packaging and the overall external look of the product gives it a premium feel. I even know some people who bought this product and said that they like it because the packaging looks classy and "expensive"; so brands, the morale of the story is pay attention to packaging!
L-R: Pablo's Latte, Candyman, Pumpkin Spice, Pink Malibu
The blushes mainly come in pink hues with the exception of Pumpkin Spice, a dirty peach shade. The shades are nothing new and a part of me is looking for a quirky shade like berry or lavender, but maybe they left that job to the Milk Tints. Glam and Go stix's shade range is geared more towards the everyday gal, the classic, practical makeup gal who doesn't mind encountering the same shades because she likes them anyway.
Top to bottom: Highlighters in Maple Syrup, Coco Jelly, Honey Glazed; Bronzer in Creme Brulee and Waffle, Contour in Cafe Au Lait
The highlighters have a silky-creamy finish, but feels harder compared to the rest of the sticks; I think this serves a purpose because I noticed that the highlighter delivers a much more buildable coverage and application is much more controlled. It's kinda' hard to explain and best understood if experienced!
As for the Bronzer and Contour sticks, they're INCREDIBLY creamy. The contour in particular reminds me of my favorite Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Contour Duo, but only in stick form.
Ans since the bronzer and contour sticks are very creamy, they have a tendency to soften up in the tube, but will eventually harden when the weather cools and they don't totally melt like a dripping candle; this was my experience with the products last summer when the weather was inexplicably hot. I wish GRWM can find a way to harden the sticks without compromising its creamy, velvety, and divine texture because dang, this is arguably the best contouring stick that I've tried in this price range.
Contour: Cafe Au Lait; Blush: Pablo's Latte; Bronzer: Creme Brulee
These products are so, so blendable; they blend seamlessly into each other and finish is velvet matte. The sticks are so pigmented, but somehow manage to look natural. I love, love the contour stick simply because in terms of blendability, coverage, and finish, I can say that it's an alternative to my favorite contour palette by Tom Ford.
You know what's another thing to love about these sticks? THE STAYING POWER. I've never encountered a stick makeup that has really good staying power. When the products set and you touch them, you won't feel them moving around. And the best part is despite the really good staying power, they don't end up looking dry and caking on the skin. The formula of the contour stick is top notch in my opinion.
If you love stick makeup, you should definitely consider adding GRWM Cosmetics Glam and Go Stix to your collection most especially the blush, contour, and bronzer sticks; definitely one of the best locally- made makeup sticks that I have tried and at a really good price point.
