THE VERDICT:

Do you have to get rid of your zit the next day, but you can't stand the burning and stinging sensation caused by Acne gels and creams? Well, you're reading the right article.

Actually, you don't have to withstand that face- twitching pain caused by traditional acne correctors. With all the advancements in technology, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of non- sting corrective acne products in the market such as this current favorite of mine, VMV Hypoallergenics Spot Corrector. It's part of their new Rosacea- friendly line, Red Better.

Benzoyl Peroxide is the most common pimple busting ingredient in traditional acne topical treatments. However, Benzoyl Peroxide has been found to be the cause of hyperpigmentation. (Read: further darkening of post- Acne marks) It is also known to cause skin sensitivity, and considered as a potential cause of cancer.

Red Better is formulated sans Benzoyl Peroxide, and it's good from people with sensitive skin to people who have low tolerance for pain. Instead, it has Salicylic Acid, a naturally- derived popular Pimple- drying acid. Click READ MORE and start zapping those zits overnight!

It's pretty small at 400 bucks, but since you don't need a lot per use, this tiny tube will last you long. It's also very travel- friendly, and it's currently my buddy during travel and sleepovers.

Red Better is a transparent gel with a slight beige tint. It yields a sharp, acidic smell due to Salicylic Acid but it's not really bothersome. Please be advised that it will still sting, depending on the condition of your zit/s: If your zit/s are ripe and fresh, it might sting a little because that's the spot treatment at work. But if your zit/s are already dry, it might or might not sting at all. It depends on your skin's reaction. But overall, it's not as painful as other acne spot treatments.

It speeds up the drying time of your zits. Whenever I get a zit, I pat this on, and it's almost dry the next day. For planet- sized zits, it might take 2- 3 days. (Well, at least I don't have to wait for a week for them to heal!)

VMV Hypoallergenics doesn't disappoint indeed. And I'm not saying this because I get most of my VMV products for free. It's just one of the companies that takes skin care seriously, and their passion for skin truly shows in how their products perform. So this goes without saying that this Red Better Spot Corrector is a keeper. Your pimple should try it.

  2. I think I'll try this too, been getting some random spots and I'm not a fan of the post-acne marks that BP leaves behind.

  3. What! Benzoyl peroxide causes darkening! So that's why I got horrible acne scars back when I was still using an acne treatment that had benzoyl peroxide as its active ingredient.
