THE VERDICT:

So here's my take on Zero Kuma's concealer. But before I reveal my thoughts, here's a fun fact:

Kuma means "Bear" and "Undereye Circles" in Japanese. So that's why the Zero Kuma mascot is a cute bear, and this is why they called this concealer Zero KUMA. So if you're wondering what KUMA means, now you know. :)

Zero Kuma is a makeup+skin care product, and comes in 3 shades. But this is not your ordinary concealer line with a progressive shade selection. I will talk more about that when you click READ MORE.

Ingredients

Shade 1 is the most universal and widely used shade among the three. It has a balanced mix of yellow and olive tones. It's made to conceal dark circles and moisturize dry areas around the under eyes at the same time. Its beneficial extracts namely Hyaluronic Acid, Rosewater, and Collagen help improve the under eyes' tone and texture after a period of usage.

It comes in a thick plastic tube with a slanted tip applicator. It's so lightweight and compact, ergo travel- friendly.

Bare under eyes

With Zero Kuma Concealer #1

It's very emollient, concentrated, and thick. A little goes a very long way. Despite its thickness, it surprisingly feels lightweight on my skin. It blends easily onto my skin, although setting time takes a while. I only use my fingers to apply this product.

It also stays put all day, doesn't fade, and keeps my under eyes feeling soft and looking healthy. I love its yellow and olive tones because it brightens up my eyes and conceals my dark circles all at once. However, I do not use this product on my eyelids because it aggravates its oiliness. But if you have normal skin on your lid area, I guess you can use it on that part.

What I love about it is it conceals naturally. No matter how much I layer it on, my skin still projects from all the concealer layers and I like it. After all, my micro wrinkles are what make me human. I do not use this for facial concealing though because it just disappears when I start applying foundation, powder, and blush on top of it. Its texture is just too wet and slippery to be used for facial concealing.

I've mentioned at the first part of this post that Zero Kuma is not your ordinary concealer line. To explain it in detail, this concealer line is specifically made to heal three different under eye problems:
1. Dryness
2. Dullness and hyperpigmentation
3. Puffiness and extremely dark circles due to poor blood circulation.

Fundamentally, all three shades can cover dark circles, but one shade is not a continuation of the other. (Hope I'm not losing you here) The three shades are independent of each other, which explains why they do not have the same tones, undertones, and benefits at all.

Here are the two other Zero Kuma shades:

02 Yellow Beige Brightening- The lightest among the three; has pale yellow tones

03 Orange Beige Improves Blood Circulation- The darkest among the three; has heavy peach tones

To sum it up, I love it. I am using it everyday because I love how it made my eyes feel smooth and supple. I tend to have small, patchy areas around my under eyes when the weather is cold, and surprisingly, I don't get them anymore when I started using Zero Kuma. It's really affordable considering that its quality is superb. It's also a good dupe for Estee Lauder's Disappear Smoothing Concealer. I highly recommend it!
