THE VERDICT:

Okay, you got P1,000.00.00 and you want to buy makeup. Don't think twice. Head to a L'Oreal counter and buy this foundation. If you're looking for an everyday liquid foundation that's good but won't hurt the wallet, this is it! I like this thing a lot and I've been using it consistently for more than a week now!

Lucent Magique Light-Infusing Foundation is a light, oil- free water- based foundation, made with 40% water for all- day hydration. It boasts of the Light- Infusing Technology, promising to give a radiant halo of light for skin that glows in all angles.

Bottle is made from glass and has a little weight to it. The only thing I don't like about this foundation is the cap: It doesn't sit tightly on the bottle and tends to pop out often. It ain't that sturdy too 'cuz the cap has a crack on it already, considering that I only had this for a little over one month. Actually, I don't know how I got that crack. LOL. Anyway, this bottle is not travel- friendly, but you can always transfer the foundation into an air- tight jar or PET bottle.

But I like the Rose Gold- colored pump because it allows me to dispense the right amount of product in every use, and doesn't get clogged after a number of uses unlike other cheap liquid foundation products.

Gold Bronze 80 is a tan shade with heavy yellow undertones and matches my skin tone perfectly. It's amazing to know that I have finally found a match in the affordable liquid foundation category because most of the time, I only find a shade that suits me in pricier brands. (It's one of the reasons why I prefer pricey brands for foundation) By the way, Gold Bronze 80 fits morena gals, or those in the NC42 shade range, if you're more familiar with MAC's shade system.

Texture is watery and indeed, very light. I don't know if it's just me, but I have noticed that it imparts a slight cooling sensation to the skin too-it's like giving my skin a drink of cold water during each use. Product is unscented, coverage is light to medium, and consistency is very spreadable.

Bare skin with Zero Kuma Concealer and ArtDeco Camouflage Cream

It can't really cover marks that well unless you have very light discolorations, but it's good enough to even out the skin tone and give it a more decent look and texture. It sets on the skin efficiently, allowing you to blend it on your skin in your own pace. However, application could be a little streaky so I suggest using a stippling brush or a fluffy traditional liquid foundation brush to buff the product evenly.

Staying power is good: It lasts with very minimal fading, doesn't aggravate my oily skin, and keeps it looking and feeling hydrated during wear, albeit it needs a little retouching around once or twice to keep my look fresh. It doesn't give me the feeling that it's clogging my pores or anything nor does it make me feel that I have foundation on my skin. It yields a dewy glow that projects through powder, and makes me look very radiant and fresh!

The texture and weight of this foundation is comparable to Bobbi Brown's Skin Foundation and Clinique's Perfectly Real Foundation, and the glowing effect is to Lancome's Teint Miracle, but the former products have better concealing powers in my opinion. Nevertheless, Lucent Magique is a very good foundation for its price, the shades are very friendly to Filipina skin, and its texture and skin- quenching abilities are to-crave-for this summer. Since it's primarily water- based, methinks it will work well on any skin type. For those who need heavier coverage, I would advise to use this product along with a concealer or a layer of correcting primer underneath.

  2. Since I have large pores and am breaking out these days, I was hesitant to buy this since I was afraid the coverage wouldn't be enough, but I guess I can always place a light layer of BB cream underneath it too!

  9. You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this review. :) Good thing you had a perfect shade match--I will be getting the same! Btw, how is this compared to Benefit's Hello Flawless liquid foundation? :) And what lipstick are you using? It's soooo gorgeous! Perfect for summer!

  12. Romila: Hi there and welcome to tbj! i use a primer underneath and a matte setting powder on top- these products help prolong the foundation on my oily skin. :)

Leilani: Awww... :( It has a powder foundation counterpart so maybe that would be better for you. :)

Jas: Sorry it took a while. :D Lipstick is Nars Funny Face. :) Benefit has better concealing powers than this one, but in terms of texture, both are the same. :)

Issa: Depends on your needs. If you want something very natural, go for this. If you want something that can cover marks considerably, go for Facefinity. :)

Kris: Looks like it! :D Saw you on photos and your skin is amazing! :D

    Ohms: True, true :)

Nana: none! That's why I love it! :)

    Jec: You're welcome! :)

arian: Great technique! Or even a color correcting primer. :)

    BrownOso: You're welcome. Indeed! :)

  13. I'm almost done with my bottle of this foundation. I love it for everyday. But for this summer, I started mixing in a water-based moisturizer as well for an even lighter feel. I don't have much acne scars so I even like the barely there look of it. Perfect for that much more polished look without looking too makeup heavy during summer for work :)
