THE VERDICT:
Alright, I'll say it: L'oreal has the best affordable foundations evah! I only tried two of their foundations-this and Lucent Magique-and I love 'em very much. No wonder why most of my makeup artist friends have this brand in their makeup kits!

The first True Match foundation came in the same glass packaging, but it had a pump dispenser. This one is the newest packaging and I think I'd rather have the former. The nice thing about the new packaging though is it looks so PRO-one of my friends have this in 8 colors (she's a makeup artist, btw), all lined up on her dresser and it looks so nice!
Caramel Beige W7 is a warm beige shade with yellow undertones. It looks pretty orange in the bottle, but it surprisingly fits my skin tone-it looks more yellow on me too, at least! Consistency is fragrance- free (but it has a strong, chemical- like vapor to it), a lil' runny and watery, and it blends so, so easily onto the skin-you can layer it on and it wouldn't look cakey! Texture is sheer, but coverage is medium to heavy and no need for you to wait before sealing it with powder.

Two layers of this foundation
It gives off this nice, polished look, which is perfect for moments and events that call you to be a little more, well, polished. It can cover light to medium discolorations, but I love its skin tone- unifying effect, albeit it cannot give you plumper- looking skin since the foundation's texture is a little sheer. My only issue with this product is it stings my eyes (and they get watery too) when I apply it on this area-it must be the strong vapor emanating from the product. If you have sensitive skin, you should test it first before using on your entire face. I wouldn't suggest it to contact lens wearers too because of that issue.
To address the "too yellow" concerns of everyone, this photo was taken a day after I arrived from Boracay. If I get darker, my yellow undertone gets stronger and this becomes very obvious in photos. Tried tweaking the camera's settings for a couple of times and took so many shots, but in the end, I'd still appear too yellow. :( In actual, this shade looks pretty yellow in the bottle, but not so when finally applied on the skin. :)

Parang it's too yellow.
ReplyDeleteI have this foundation and I love the formula but I wish it has a pump on it!
ReplyDeleteBeen waiting for your opinion on this foundie, finally! :))
ReplyDeleteI have mine in nude beige W3 and so far this is the only foundation I trust since it's really hard to choose from varieties of foundation out there. But yes, for oily skin like myself-you really need to retouch quite often for it really shines like crazy! Overall I love that it really gives that even and polished look.. And blendable indeed! :)
I love the coverage although it seemed like too orangey? or maybe it is just my laptop screen. I always have a problem using liquid foundations because I'm oily and have really bumpy skin because of acne, but I wouldn't mind retouching often as long as the coverage is good :) Thanks for this foundation review!
ReplyDeleteI love that they have a shade that's good for tanned yellow-toned skin :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try this!

I got W7 too thanks to you! Recently I noticed when you look closely it has some sort of shimmer and the staying power is really poor after 5 hrs palang my tzone starts to be oily kailangan iblot kagad. I was thinking baka its the shimmer thingy kaya feeling ko it looks oily pero I still blot anyway. But yes! the product is foolproof super blendable talaga. Its also nice na wala syang white cast considerig it has SPF :)
ReplyDeleteLooks nice. Maybe I should throw away the fear of wearing foundations with yellow undertones. Maybe find good quality like this. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is my second day of using this, and I liked it. I usually get oily on my t-zone so it didn't bother me that much. It is skin-like, I would have to agree, and it evens out my skin tone very well! Woot!
ReplyDeleteyes too yellow. I may not give this a try because I have oily skin and I hate retouching coz I'm so tamad hihi. I notice that it blurs out skin's imperfections on flash photography.
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried. Curious, hmmmm, isn't it kinna messy applying it from a bottle? Anyway, looks so natural. Promising.
ReplyDeleteAwts! Oily skinned gals like me had to retouch often,? Errr.. it looks perfect on you, and maybe on anyone but I'm guessing I'll have a make up meltdown sa tanghali. Oh no! And like you, I become too yellow whenever I get darker or paler.
ReplyDeleteMajorie: Thanks! :) If you have very oily skin, I would not suggest this foundation though. :p
ReplyDeleteJen: A little because the product seeps on the sides of the opening when you pour it out!
Marielle, Kim and Laarni: Addressed the yellow issue in the post. :)
Juvy: awesome!
Pau: Lemme know how you like it! :D
Carmela: same wish!
Anonymous: Hi there and welcome to my blog! Glad my recommendation has helped you! :) You're right, it's amazing that it doesn't yield any white cast despite the spf content in it. :)
Betsy: Yay! Glad you like it. i use this on days when I don't feel like exerting effort on my makeup haha!
Let me know what you think of this post! :)
