I have never appreciated Cream Eyeshadows until I put up my business and my life got more hectic. I began to see how convenient it is in times when I have to be out the door in a few minutes (which happens all the time now) and still look as if I spent an hour on my makeup. I think every career woman should have a cream eyeshadow in her purse because really, it's a secret weapon to looking primp and polished!

Of course, don't just go for any kind of Cream Eyeshadow. Bad cream shadows can end up sabotaging your entire look by creasing, fading, streaking, and transferring. My trusted brand, aside from Benefit Cosmetics, is Make Up For Ever. MUFE's Aqua Matic Cream Shadow is one of the best cream shadows around because it sticks on like tattoo!

Aqua Matic is Make Up For Ever's range of professional cream eyeshadows that promise to be budge- proof, sebum- proof, and waterproof all while being foolproof. It comes in frost, matte, and diamond finishes.

The shadows conveniently come in an automatic pencil packaging. It's easy to grip, easy to use, and easy to store. The shades I have are S-52 (left) and ME-32 (right). The shade names are just hard to remember though. :p

Aqua Matic comes with a built- in sharpener so you can sharpen the tip anytime it gets dull.

S-52- Icy peach shade (Frost)
ME-32- Olive Green (Frost)

Texture is smooth and creamy, and it glides on effortlessly and blends well. I don't really know if this is an issue (because to me, it's not), but I'll say it anyway: it sets fairly quickly onto the skin and won't budge anymore when it does. That said, be sure to blend it while it's still in its creamy condition. The shadows set into a matte- feeling, no- budge finish, but it surprisingly doesn't feel sticky or make you feel as if there's something atop your lids.

TIP: You can use these shadows as eyeliners too!

Aqua Matic is like a tattoo because no matter how you rub on it, it won't come off, but at least it melts easily with any eye makeup remover. It's VERY waterproof and can withstand oily lids even without an eye primer. I took this photo a few minutes after applying the eyeshadow on my lids and after 2 meetings, 1 event, 1 dinner, and a quick coffee date with friends to end the day, the shadows still looked as vibrant and true as ever. It's pretty expensive, I know, but you can never go wrong with waterproof cream shadows, most especially with waterproof cream shadows from Make Up For Ever. It's great to have one in your purse and in your go-to shade for travel, quick touch- ups, and instant transformations. ;)

9 Lovely Thoughts

  1. yes i'm a believer of cream shadows too :) i have tried from urban decay and the eye tattoo line from maybelline. this one seems nice but i don't think i can ever go beyond 1k for a stick 'cream shadow', it's just too expensive ;( although, if they lower the price or go on sale, i'll be first in line! lol

    1. I've experienced what cream shadows can do for me so personally, I wouldn't mind spending for it. Such a time saver! :)

  2. pretty! but honestly i have hard time blending this kind of eyeshadow

    1. I have a tutorial on how to work cream shadows. :D

  3. Wow. This looks like every oily eyelid gal's dream eyeshadow! This is a bit beyond my budget but I do think this is worth it, considering its performance and wear time. Will check this out. Thanks for this post. :)

  4. An eye shadow just like a tattoo, that's interesting! This is truly a must have who loves doing eye makeup though it's expensive it really works awesome.

  5. It's amazing! It really lasts long. I would love to have a blue shade. Since it's expensive, I can only have one or two. :) well, I would need to blend fast if I have this one. I agree, cream eyeshadows are really on the go eyeshadows. I have a lot from different brands, usually from korean brands as they're affordable yet very pigmented and easy to use.

    1. I'm good with one or two as well. Or maybe three-this one would be a brown shade for everyday. :)
