THE VERDICT:
I have God knows how many salves at home, from Pawpaw balms, minty ointments, all- around salves, what have you; I don't why, but I like collecting them and I like the idea of having "remedies in handy pots and tubes". Of course, Burt's Bees can never be not part of my collection because it's the brand of salves, good salves to be exact and I'll talk about my faves today.
BURT'S BEES RES-Q OINTMENT, HAND SALVE, AND LEMON BUTTER CUTICLE CREAM IN DETAIL
Res-Q Ointment is a healing salve for skin emergencies such as stings, cuts, and bruises; it contains Comfrey extract that has Allantoin, which helps condition skin and support speedy healing. Hand Salve features botanical Oils in a Beeswax base, one of the best moisturizing agents found in nature. Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream conditions cuticles and improves the condition of dry, brittle nails with Cocoa Butter, Almond Oil, Vitamin E, and Sunflower Oil.

The products come in a charming, vintage tin with a brilliant concept: the cover does not fall all the way to the bottom of pan and the pan curves at the base, giving you a better grip at the product and for easy opening; no need to wrestle with the tin just to open it!
Res-Q Ointment is a huge favorite of mine because it's a gentle, non- sting salve for mosquito and insect bites, itchiness, and mild skin irritations caused by certain allergens found outdoors. What I like best about it is it isn't laced with menthol unlike other, similar products, therefore it's safe for someone like me who tends to rub her eyes after using a salve LOL! The pure, Olive Oil base makes it an effective moisturizing product as well. However, due to the high concentration of aromatic oils in it, I wouldn't put it on cuts and deep wounds; just on minor scratches.
Hand Salve is a weightlifter's best friend. For the past few weeks, I picked up on my Dead lift game and been doing frequently than ever, thus I've been getting more calluses on my palms than ever; this salve does the trick. I apply a generous amount on the rough areas, leave it overnight, and the roughness goes away the next day. It's a wonder treatment for those who do house chores often too!
Lemon Cuticle Butter Cream is for those who tend to get dry skin on on the sides of the nails (ouch!); the high concentration of moisturizing ingredients in this product will keep dry skin to a minimum; I also noticed that with consistent usage, this product gives nails a healthy, natural sheen.

Lemon Cuticle Butter Cream is a must try for me because I always tend to have dry skin around my nails and I feel like my nails aren't that healthy because of constant painting them
ReplyDeleteLooks like Lemon Cuticle Butter Cream is perfect for you! This one's really emollient and works well in softening the cuticles. :)
DeleteI want to try Res-q ointment. I believe this work well on my son for mosquito bites and so on. I'm really fond of using ointments too.
ReplyDeleteit does work on mosquito bites! What I like about it is it's mild and smells so comforting. :)
DeleteHand salve would be perfect to my needs and Res-q ointment too. I wish to have those in my life(*≧▽≦)because I grow up having ointments just like katinko and vicks to be part of our daily lives and emergency kit(^▽^)
ReplyDeleteSame here! I love the balms you mentioned as I grew up with them too, but nowadays, I just want a gentler alternative and found it in Burt's Bees. :)
DeleteI've never tried any burt's bees product.. I am definitely sure when I try one of their products I'm gonna be addicted to their other products
ReplyDeleteLast week I was looking for a hand salve and tried the banana scented one from Burts Bees. It smells divine, I can't stop sniffing my hands. It comes in a glass jar though so it's a little heavu to carry around.
ReplyDeleteI used to have that too! Agree, the scent of that one is divine and delish, and it always makes me hungry haha. Hand Salve is the perfect, travel- friendly alternative. :)
DeleteI would love to try the Res-Q Ointment. This would be handy for my daughter for relief from itchiness caused by mosquito and ant bites and irritations due to allergy from dust and dirt.
ReplyDeleteNow that you mentioned your daughter, I now think that because of its gentle formula, this one will be great for kids' use too!
DeleteI want to try the Lemon Cuticle Butter when I finish my current cuticle treatment (it's also a balm in a tin, by Badger). I've heard so many good things about it!
ReplyDeleteHi and welcome to my blog! I used to have Badger, the all- around balm, but sadly, the brand was pulled out from the Philippines; hope to try it soon!
DeleteI love all Burt Bee's lip balms and glosses. They never fail to nourish my lips! Thanks for the other infos. Really wanted to try their hand creams though. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. :) I agree, their balms are really nourishing. :)
DeleteAs a child I grow up using tiger balm and I grow it currently my to go balm is from orly spa.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried any Burt's Bees products, but I'm eyeing that Res-Q Ointment for its functions. I have skin asthma and since I hand wash my clothes during laundry, my hands take the brunt of irritation. Hopefully their products will work on me! Thanks Ms. Martha.
ReplyDeleteHey Tala, not sure though if this is suitable for people with skin conditions such as yours so please consult your doctor first prior usage for safety. ;)
