THE VERDICT:

Hello Glow is one of the favorite local sunscreens of Tiktok and of course, I had to try. The first one that I’ve tried is the famous 3-in-1 Lightweight Sun Care Gel and it’s pretty good! Love the texture and performance, and I can’t believe it’s so affordable!

I’m pleased to learn that Hello Glow has added more variants to their popular SPF range. I’ve tried out everything and if you want to know my recos and which skin types and concerns each variant is recommended for, read on!

 

To the uninitiated, Hello Glow is a local skin care brand by the same company behind Ever Bilena. Hello Glow’s SPF range originally started with 3-in-1 Lightweight Gel and has recently expanded to include the new Ultralight ++ Matte Sunscreen, Niacinamide Tinted Sunscreen, and Anti-Pollution Tinted Sunscreen.

Anti-Pollution Tinted Sunscreen (P185) is a sheer, tinted sunscreen with Anti-Pollution properties that help protect the skin from external environmental aggressors, Niacinamide, Vitamin E, and Hyaluronic Acid. It only comes in one shade, which is a light beige, but since it’s quite sure and has semi- tone adapting properties, I think it can also suit those with medium skin tones. It has SPF 50 PA+++ and feels very light, like a gel moisturizer. This is great for those who have mild discolorations, who have dry skin and looking for a hydrating skin tint, and love the ‘no makeup’ makeup look.

3-in-1 Lightweight Sun Care Gel (P320) is the OG. It has SPF 50+ and has Aloe Vera, Bamboo Leaf, and Woodapple extracts. This has the most universal formula and is suitable for all skin types. It’s light, bouncy, absorbs easily, and leaves no white cast, which was one of the huge selling points back in 2020 when Filipinos were starting to open up to local skin care brands.

Niacinamide Tinted Sunscreen (P320) is a tinted moisturizer with SPF benefits. It has Niacinamide and SPF 50 PA++++ plus a light, oil- controlling coverage. Shade is fair medium and ideal for fairer skin tones. I wish Hello Glow will release shades for warmer skin tones like me. It has a hydrating formula and moisturizing texture, but has mild oil control so I think this will be ideal for those with combination oily/dry skin types.

Finally, we have my second favorite, Ultralight Matte ++ Sunscreen (P350). This light gel sunscreen has a hydrating feel and finish is semi- matte. It’s perfect for oily skin types and humid climates. It’s also great to be used under makeup!
