5 SUPERFLUOUS BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Sometimes, we can't help but fall prey to different marketing ploys. They target our ultimate wants and needs as women. While some of these products are really worth the try, some are just plainly overhyped.

Truth be told, you don't really need these beauty products.

FIRMING AND SCULPTING CREAMS

- If they are indeed effective, then the Gym industry would go bankrupt. Seriously, these creams literally do nothing to shape and tone your flabby areas even if you have them slathered on your thighs, tummies, hips, and arms 24/7. Don't expect it to work especially if you sit all day in front of the T.V. and munch on a bowl of butter popcorn. You have to remember that fat can only be lost when utilized, and loose and sagging skin can only be made firm either by surgery or advanced dermatological treatments.
TEAR DROP LINERS

- Here's another tease product that will just extort your money. While some find it amusing, I find it a complete waste of money. I guess it was just hyped up by some brands. If you want that sparkling look on your eyes, spare yourself a few bucks and grab your highlighter eyeshadow, dip your eyeliner brush in water (you may also opt for dry application), and apply some on your tear ducts. You get the same effect sans the chunky glitter and irritating wet feeling.

SPECIAL CREAMS

- You've probably seen special creams for necks, knees, buttocks, thighs, etc in supermarkets and malls. Honestly, a "special" beauty cream only contains the same ingredients as the other. Best examples are face, neck, and décolleté creams. Find a moisturizer that has firming and moisturizing ingredients, and a lotion that has hydrating, anti- aging, and SPF properties. They're cheaper and multi- tasking.

LIP CONCEALERS

- Really? Why would I want to conceal my lips? Oh yeah. Brands say that they help neutralize the color of the lips, thereby making lipstick colors appear vibrant, vivid, and true. Well, I think these are just ploys. A lip concealer is pigmented. So it's inevitable that it will somehow change the color of your lipstick. Also, you'd have to sacrifice good ol' lip balm if you want to use this. Lip balm's more beneficial so I think you shouldn't skip that. Piece of advice, if you really want to use a lip concealer, use concealer instead. Or if you have nude lipstick, use it.

FACE PATCHES

- There's a pimple patch, lip and chin patch, depuffing patch, anti- aging patch, moisturizing patch, and the cabbage patch kids (LOL). Seriously, these patches only contain the same ingredients in your moisturizer and face cream. So spare yourself from extra expenses and buy only the necessary patch you need like the nose cleansing patch.

  1. I have used pimple patches before when my skin was on breakout mode at different areas on my face at the same time. It worked well for me better than topical gel/cream spot treatments but that's pretty much i'd spend for when it comes to patches...lol...

  3. this is the first time i heard of tear drop liners. i know it's kind of rude to say it's a flop and non sense. but I actually think its effect is something you can achieve using eyeshadow or glitter eyeliner, there's even a glitter liquid eyeliner and much cheaper than etude's.
