DESCRIPTION (Taken from fragrantica.com):
Secret Wish is fairy-like perfume for all those who believe in fairytales. Poetic and very feminine style of American designer Anna Sui reflected in her perfumes.Secret Wish is a pleasing fruity fragrance. The first notes are fresh and juicy: lemon, melon, tagette, peach, pineapple, and black currant. They are followed by floral accord and elegant woodsy notes of white cedar, sandalwood, amber and musk. Secret wish is a blue-green colored perfume, captured in a transparent bottle with stopper that reminds of Tinkerbell. The perfume was created by Michel Almairac of Robertet in 2005.
What do you get when you drown Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue with lemons? Anna Sui's Secret Wish. Top notes say that it's composed of various citrusy fruits, but sadly, the first whiff is intoxicatingly lemon-y. Makes me wonder where all the other fruits went.
However, the scent starts to become pleasing when the perfume reveals its middle notes. The lemon scent is being tamed by a beautiful floral accord. But sadly, it settles to a D&G Light Blue-ish type of scent with hints of musk and floral. It lasts for at least 4 hours on me.
It's a great daytime scent, and I could envision blushing brides sporting this perfume on their big day. Young girls who are yet to discover the wonderful world of perfumes will also delight in this vibrant, young, and carefree scent. The fairy cap is also a cool plus for those who like it cute and dainty.
Overall, I like it, but it's not something that I would repurchase. I am forever in love with Eclat D' Arpege, and by far, the best feminine and dreamy scent for me. Lanvin's clever injection of lavender notes in EDA has made it very unique, even though the top notes are quite lemon-y too. Secret Wish's top notes could've been as unique as its middle notes, so that no one would ever tell me that I reek of D&G's Light Blue every time I'm wearing this perfume. Light Blue's status as the benchmark for citrusy perfumes may be partly to blame, but I think perfumers are being hired for a reason. For the record, I do not dislike Light Blue. I'm just saying that Secret Wish could've had its own identity. At least the bottle is cute. I think I'll keep it.

Hi! Can't believe it, we share the same preference for perfumes. My number 1-go-to is also Eclat, perfect for day and night, feels like you're going on a date. Quite a number of people have complimented me and have asked what scent I was wearing with Eclat.. My number 2 is Secret Wish, so fresh and it makes me remember my high school days.. I've been alternating between the two for about 3 years now, and I'm curently looking for something new yet quite similar to the two. =)
ReplyDeletepat: hello! :D Glad to know you're loving the same things too! :D Eclat smells wonderful. I still couldn't find anything that would replace it as my HG. Eclat is such a versatile scent. It sorta' adheres to what you're wearing, whether you're sporting a laid-back or dressy outfit. Secret Wish, on the other hand, is fine, but Eclat remains unbeaten. :) Welcome to my blog! :D
