THE VERDICT:

I've had this mascara for more than 3 months already, but I've decided to review it just now. To be honest, I did not like it when it was fresh and new, but I gave it a chance because I felt that there is something in this product that makes a lot of women go gaga over it. Now I know why: This mascara is just like wine--it's the type that gets better as it ages! Not a lot of mascaras are like that!

FAIRYDROPS VOLUME BURST MASCARA IN DETAIL

Here's the patented curvy wand. It's a pretty cool concept, but I find that it tends to absorb globs of mascara. At first, the consistency of the mascara is very thick, wet, and mousse- like, and it clumps on my lashes like crazy-it demanded some effort to apply. BUT-as time went by, I've noticed that the wet texture became a little whipped and smoother, and it got more and more clump- free.

I've found a way to effectively utilize this mascara and its volumizing prowess regardless if it's new or a lil' aged already:

TECHNIQUE: Gently push the wand to the side of the tube as you pull it out to get rid of excess mascara gunk, then apply mascara as usual. This will help you get the right amount of mascara for your lashes.

This mascara dries up to a soft, flexible finish, and it doesn't give you that ugly spider legs look. Staying power is very good: It stays intact for the whole day without flaking and smudging, yet it slides off easily with warm water. I even wore this once to the gym and it didn't streak despite my hardcore workout!

Voila! Dramatic volume, granted by Fairy Drops! Its volumizing ability reminds me of Dolly Wink's Volumizing mascara, but the good thing about Fairy Drops is it's more accessible than the former. Unlike Dolly Wink and most mascara brands I have tried, I have noticed that Fairy Drops has a better life span: This baby is turning 4 months next month and it's nowhere near rancid, dry, and crusty-like what I said, it gets better as it ages.

I love this mascara because it's very economical, and an awesome alternative and as good as Dolly Wink! It may be a little pricey to some at P950.00, but since it has a very good shelf life, it will cost you lesser in the end. I recommend it to girls with really sparse lashes as it will truly pump up the volume on your eyes, and those who want to sport the 'falsies look' on a daily basis sans the false eyelashes. It's also best for those who don't really follow the 3-month rule in mascara usage--(like me!) just make sure you don't lend it to others to make it last longer and to prevent contamination!

By the way, I have found a better use for my K-Palette Lash Perm Mascara: As a lower lash mascara! I use K-Palette's mascara in conjunction with this Fairy Drops variant to achieve a Twiggy look. :)

  1. I think this suits me...First because I have sparse lashes and I need that dramatic volume it gives. Next is the staying power and lastly the longer shell life. Like you Ms. M I usually dispose mascara after 3 months because it gets crusty and dry. But yes this is pricey but worth a try. :)

  3. I've read a lot of beauty bloggers' praises for Fairydrops mascara and its unique wand but the price discourages me. I'll put off buying this for myself since Avon Shock works for me naman at the moment. I also want to try Maybelline or Covergirl. Grabe ang dami kong gustong i-try lol! Thanks for this post Ms. M! I like the chronology of the photos, they really illustrated the volumizing effect of Fairydrops.

  7. I was in love at first sight with this mascara. I love it to bits! Even at the third coat, it didn't gave your lashes a clump look. Seems like you're wearing natural falsies at the 3rd coat pic. Wooo anyways, how can you compare this with Maybelline's the Falsies mascara? Can it be a dupe for this one? I've been lemming to buy fairydrops but I still I'm not still ready to splurge almost a thousand for mascara. And I'm also torn between maybelline's and Avon's supermagnify mascara. I've tried the latter and I love it to bits too! Thanks for sharing, Ms. M ♥

  8. Oh oh my comment did not seem to go through. I like how Fairydrops volumized your lashes as illustrated by the photos. I want to try it but I'm discouraged by the price so I'll hold off buying one for a while. But I promise myself that I'll buy Fairydrops once I've gone through my list of mascaras to try.

    1. May binebentang mascara guard s mga online shops. Or u can just put a business card s ilalim ng lower lashes m to revent it from being applied s skin

  12. If I'm not mistaken Patty Laurel was able to feature this as well on her blog, kaya medyo na-caught ang attention ko kasi at the first sight aminin di sya mukhang "quality" mascara, it seems that this is good for tweenies only haha but you have a good review there and the presentation is enough for me to try it sometime.

    Rhain: Thanks for sharing. :)

Eloise: Nifty trick, but if you're not careful, you may end up slicing your eyeballs. Yeaouch! What I do is I put tissue underneath my lower lashes :)

    Arya: Haha! :)

Josie and Issa: Let me know how it works for you when you've finally tried it. :)

Kris: I understand 'cuz it's a lil' pricey! Oh well, still worth giving a try. :D

Desire: I like this one better than Falsies 'cuz it has no hair fibers. :)

    Yette: Me too! :)

    Eloise: Yup! :)

  15. I was impressed with the mascara but was impressed even more with your eyes? Tibo lang? Haha!

I really am not a mascara wearer because after a few hours it makes the circle of my eyes look darker even if it's waterproof. Pero feeling ko this.will work for me and pit back the glow in my eyes!
